When Kiara hadn't returned a couple hours after she said she would, Hobie began to grow nervous. He gave her a call, then 20 more. When she didn't answer, then he really began to worry.
He punched in the code to her dimension, walking through the portal to her apartment. Hobie tore the place up looking for her, and when he realized she wasn't there, he called Gwen.
"Gwen. Kiara is gone, like missing. I don't know where she is." He frantically told her over the phone, pulling hisbmask on before swinging out of the apartment to look for her on the streets. "What do you mean she is missing?" She asked him, moving to sit up from her laying position.
"I mean, she is gone. She won't pick up her phone, and she isn't in her flat. Come help me look for her. Please." He begged before hanging up the call. Of course, neither of them had any luck looking for her.
Hobie didn't sleep while she was gone. He spent all his time looking for her, anywhere she might be. He was the first person Miguel would choose to go looking, per Hobie's request, of course.
After two weeks of continuously looking for her, Hobie was called in to see Miguel. When he arrived, he saw a group of other spider people huddled up.
"Good, you're here." Was all Miguel said before turning to the rest of the group. "We have evidence as to where Kiara might be, so we need to go there as soon as possible, get her out, and get her watch back."
Of course, that's all Miguel was worried about. His stupid watch, he didn't want anyone else using it.
Before Hobie knew it, he was swinging into the laboratory at full speed. It was pure chaos the second the group arrived. The scientists there started shooting, and there was yelling. It was a mess.
His anxiety only grew as he ran deeper into the building. It was like using the bathroom. It gets worse the closer you get to the toilet. That was until he found burst through a set of doors, and out of the corner of his eye, he spotted her.
She was curled up into herself, resting against the wall in the corning of the room. As he grew closer, he realized how bad of condition she was in. The sight almost made him tear up, running over and falling to his knees.
He tried to shake her awake, but she remained unconscious. He reached his shaky hand up to her neck, searching for a pulse. Shit. He couldn't find one. His hand began to move more frantically until he finally felt the small beating of her heart.
He released a breath he didn't even know he had been holding, but the fight didn't stop there. She was weak, he could tell, and she would need immediate medical attention. He quickly yelled at the rest of the group that he found her and was heading back to HQ.
He carefully picked her up, kissing her forehead gently. "It's okay, hunny. I got you. You're safe now." He whispered before pressing a few buttons on his watch. Quickly enough, a portal opened, and he ran through.
Once inside, he brought her to the medical wing, which was where he stayed with her for the next couple of days. He was right. She was in bad condition. She was severely dehydrated and starved. Kiara also had a bad infection from a cut on her shoulder, and she had multiple cracked ribs.
Kie stayed asleep for the next 4 days, and Hobie didn't leave her side once. Miguel tried to get him to go home or go on missions, but it was no hope. The boy wouldn't listen.
Gwen and Pav came to visit fairly often, sitting with Hobie for a couple hours before they had to leave. The medic brought a cot for him to sleep on, but it was hopeless. He didn't get much sleep while he was there.

Kiara finally opened her eyes around September 22nd, which was about three weeks after her disappearance. As she began to grow conscious again, she heard the faint sounds of a monitor beeping and soft breaths next to her.
Once she finally grew the strength to open her eyes, she did. Once her eyes were opened, she looked around, squinting at the bright lights.
As her body began to wake up, she became aware of the excruciating headache she had. Not only that, but her multiple wounds were throbbing. She let out a soft groan, reaching her shaky hand up to hold her head.
"Kiara..?" She heard a low voice mumble, and her head immediately moved to look at the voice. Once she saw his face, tears began to spill out. She tried to speak, but all that came out was a quiet squeak.
"It's okay, love, it's okay." He stood up, moving closer to her so he could hold her. "You're safe now, see? I got you?" He caressed her hair, kissing her forehead. Not too much long after, a few doctors came running in, asking Kiara all sorts of questions and giving her all kinds of medications.
She couldn't focus on them, however. She was just so tired and in so much pain. All she wanted was some water and to go back to bed.
Eventually, the doctors faded out, and Miguel walked in. Kiara had gotten the water she asked for, and although her voice was weak, she could talk. She had been conversing with Hobie when she noticed him.
She sighed, mentally bracing for the fit he was about to throw. "Kiara." He said, voice firm. "Yes?" was all she asked, taking another sip of water. Miguel pinced the bridge of his nose, letting out a dramatic sigh.
"How are you feeling?" He asked, catching Kiara by surprise. "Uh.. I'm as good as I can be, I guess?" She said with a small smile, setting her glass down. Miguel nodded, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Good, good. We were lucky to be able to locate you, and we have good news. Your old watch was destroyed with the rest of your things, so there were no problems containing that." He told her, and she frowned. Of course, they destroyed all her things. Why wouldn't they?
"That's good.." She muttered, leaving back to rest her head on her pillow. "Not to worry, however, as you can already tell, we replacee 6 we are all glad to see you alive and well." He nodded toward the little machine on her wrist.
"I wouldn't say I'm well, but thank you, Miguel." She said with a small smile, bidding her farewells as he walked out. She glanced over to Hobie once again, rolling her eyes. "God, he is so annoying, isn't he?" She asked, and Hobie simply chuckled.
"He sure is sweetheart."

Okay, guys, here you go. This is such a crappy chapter, I am so sorry. I am thinking of making this a mature book, if you know what I mean, but what do you guys think? Should I make a separate book with those kinds of chapters and leave this one? Let me know what you think. Anyway, I will be posting again very soon, so keep watch.
