"Is your dad letting you play" Sandy asked Adam through the phone."Yeah" she smiled and even felt his smile warming up.
"God I'm so happy, cause I wasn't doing this alone"
"I know" he snickered, "how do you think they'll react"
"Well I guess we'll find out tomorrow" Sandy said and sighed, "I'm just glad that it was us"

Sandy and Adam stood staring at the door to the changing room. Both scared out of their minds.
"Come on" Sandy said walking forward and Adam following shortly behind.
The second the ducks saw them it grew silent and Sandy looked down her sight quickly sticking to her shoes.
The door opened once again and Gordon stepped in, "Hey. Wasn't sure if you'd show up"
"Yeah, whatever" Adam spoke quietly.
"We just want to play hockey" Sandy continued.
"Good. Ducks you all know Adam Banks and Sandy Morelli"
"On behalf of the ducks I'd like to say welcome" Charlie stepped forward but quickly got stopped by Jesse.
"Cake-eaters" Jesse spat.
"Ooh, the Jess-man, dissing the new guys! The Jess-ster!"
"Shut up Averman!" Jesse yelled.
"It's just a joke" he responded.
"Putting on a ducks jersey doesn't mean you're a real duck" Jesse said and walked out bumping into Sandy on purpose. The rest of the ducks followed Jesse doing the same.
"They're a good group once you get to know them" Gordon said quietly.
"I bet" Adam sighed.
"Well, suit up. I'll see you on the ice"
Once they had their gear on the game started Adam got placed as right forward while Sandy sat on the bench waiting.
"Right here! I'm open!" Called right in front of the other teams goal. But they just ignored him, "come on, right here! Up front!"
"Pass it to Banks" Gordon yelled from the box.
"Come on, do something with it!" Adam yelled. Finally Charlie got the puck and passed it to Banks as he easily scored.
Everyone on ice hugged him but Jesse— he was still pissed.
Adam skated up to Sandy and gave her a fist bump. Soon it was only 16 seconds left.
"Goldberg you're gonna sit this one out!"
"You're pulling the goalie in the last second!" Someone yelled.
"A tie isn't gonna help us. We need the win! Okay Fulton you're our extra man— everybody, get the puck to Fulton. That's your job"
"Are we pulling the Statue of Liberty play?" Fulton questioned.
"Yeah" Connie said.
"No, take your shot" Gordon said keeping eye contact, "you may only get one, so it's gotta be good"
"But, coach, one out of one?" Fulton said.
"Soft hands, Fulton" Guy spoke up, "concentration not strength"
"That's right!" Gordon agreed, "okay, let's go get the huskies!"
"Let's go" people chanted.
Fulton got the puck and loaded up to shoot but he was too slow, a husky ducked under and caught the puck. The boy got up and started skating towards the ducks empty goal. But Fulton was quick on his feet and chased after the puck and tackled the boy down.
Now Fulton loaded up again, "shoot, shoot!" The ducks screamed at the top of their lungs.
The slap shot made the players flee— even the goalie. The puck then ripped a hole through the net, the ducks celebrated their second goal leading them to victory as the huskies watched in awe and sadness at the same time.
"We made the playoffs!"

"Hey, Connie— can I talk to you for a minute" Sandy stammered.
"Sure" Connie sighed and stood up when she was done tugging off her skates. Sandy led Connie outside the locker room and leaned against the wall looking around to see if anyone was listening or walking by at the moment.
"I don't want to fight anymore. I know what I have done is far over the line and I wished I could change all of it, but the fact is I can't— and you need to agree that we would play so much better if we at least don't hate each other. I just wish things would go back to how they were before"
"I do agree" Connie shrugged.
"Come over tomorrow and we can do whatever you want— I know how hard and annoying it can be only having guy friends" Sandy commanded and walked away into the locker room while Connie watched in confusion.
"What did you say?" Adam snickered once Sandy sat down next to him, "cause Connie actually looks happy after talking to you"
"Girl things, you wouldn't understand" Sandy said and tried to hide her bright smile.
