Doma joined the core through having Inosuke teach him how breathing techniques work. Even if Doma used to be an uppermoon who fought breathing users, he never learned through sight alone.
"Ice breathing? That's not even a thing!"
"Yes it is dad! You can make ice breathing just like how I made beast breathing!" Inosuke yelled
"Ok, but will you atleast put on a shirt?" Doma yelled back.
"CAN I WEAR ONE OF YOURS!?!?!?" Inosuke yelled.
"I'm sure hashira had someone tell them how I looked like, so no."
