Dinner

“when will this fucking dinner end?!”  i said to myself, my brows furrowed as i chopped the steak infront of me.

My mom keeps bickering throughout the whole dinner and it's annoying me.

I knew me and law we're feeling the same, he looks like he's not even listening to my mom.

“so, kailan niyo balak mag-settle down?“ tita kath suddenly said which made me accidentally choke on my food.

“ibig sabihin, wala pa kayong balak na mag-settle down? why? aren’t you sure about your love for each other? aba, hindi pwede iyon. Both companies are destined to profit from each other lalo na kung magpapakasal ang dalawang heir.”

mom continues, i saw lawrence's fist clenched. i gave a slight chuckle, wondering about his thoughts. “fuck this.“ i can hear him saying. He's fighting the urge to tell those words.

i'm going to be honest, the real reason why lawrence cannot let go of this situation is simple, he cannot live with his lover without wealth. Sanay si lawrence with mayaman life, huge mansion, private school, travel, not worrying about any cents he wasted. Isa pa, i know his family. Even if lawrence's admits that he doesn't want to marry me? i knew that his father wouldn't agree with the idea of marrying such a woman. who you might wonder?

Pero 'yun nga diba ang purpose ng pagiging villainess. what makes me any more different from the other villainess? I don't love the male lead.

“we're planning to pero we wanted to experience more fun while we're in this state, right love?”  i cringed by the thoughts of calling him love.

“yes, because we knew that right after we're married, we'd be both busy with our managed companies and we don’t want that for now. We both first wanted to manage and be used to the idea of not seeing each other often” he smiled as he held my hand on the table.

“ ’yun naman pala, girl's, let's not hurry these two loving couple.” Dad smiled at us, kahit na alam kong kating kati na siya na manakawan ang kompanya nila tito devin.

The dinner ended and both me and law obviously, we're forced to ride the dame car para umuwi sa aming sariling bahay, away from our parents pero you knew well that, that won’t happen.

“baba.”  lawrence murmured as he stops the car,

i didn’t say a word and got off, roaming my eyes to find my car, bingo. lambo, baby, i'm coming!!

i sat inside the car and i was greeted my an unfamiliar voice,

“good evening madam!” an energetic voice ang sumalubong sa’kin. I flinched, tangina, did i ride the wrong car? pero i was sure that this was my baby, ganito talaga kalambot ang mga car seats neto.

“g-good evening.” i stuttered, tangina what if sinuntok neto si manong driver tapos he's pretending to be one pero where tf is lisa? tangina pati ba naman assistant ko binugbog neto? may puso pa ba 'to? i wondered, he keeps saying something i couldn't understand kasi i wasn’t paying attention as i grabbed ny ohone and texted lisa.

“lisa!! where tf are u? may stranger dito sa car, hurry up and save me!!” i texted hurriedly.

“ha? are you sure? pero kaka-text lang sa’kin ni adonnis na nakikita ka na daw niya and you're papasok na daw sa car” madaling pagrereply niya sa’kin. “who tf is adonnis?” “ahh right, hindi ko pala napakilala sa’yo ang new temporary assistant mo, diba sabi ko sa’yo, uuwi ako sa province to see my mom? kasi nga may sakit siya and walang ibang magaalaga sakaniya.” i sighed as i saw that text,

“ma’am? ma’am! ma'aaaaaaaaaam??” pangungulit sa’kin ni adonnis. i rolled ny eyes and fixed my posture.

“are you adonnis?” i murmured, he chuckled slightly,

“opo ma’am, akala ko nga po hindi kayo nakikinig e kasi hindi niyo naman ako sinasagot.“ i smiled awkwardly.

“ahh..”

“yes?” i raised my brows.

“i'm adonnis d. Jonson po, you're new assistant!”, he greets me with a warm smile.

“temporary.” i rolled my eyes.

“t-temporary lang pala po hehe” he seems unbothered sa kamalditahan ko.

“do you really know where my house is located?” i raised my brows again.

“opo naman ma’am, bakit po?”

“is this a different route? i have never seen this street ever in my life, san juan street? you know well this isn’t where my mansion is.” i asked him, souding a bit nervous, baka kung saan saan na ako dinadala ng lalaking  ito.

“hm? seryoso ma’am? di niyo alam 'tong shortcut na 'to ? so ibigsabihin dumadaan pa kayo ni ma'am lisa sa buong tagaytay bago kayo maka-uwi??” he sounded worried.

“well i mean, oo, hindi ba?”

“ma'am, sikat na 'tong ruta na 'to sa nga galing ng probinsya tapos papuntang maynila” he giggles, para bang pinagtatawanan kami.

“e kung sa hindi namin alam?” umiral nanaman ang kamalditahan ko.

“e-eh sorry po, sungit mo naman madam.” he seemed taken a back, i rolled my eyes at him and stayed silent until we reached my house.

“ipapark ko lang po ito ma’am.”

“i know, hindi naman obvious,adonnis.” nakakainis, parabg lahat ng gagawun ipagpapaalam sa’kin.

i entered the house which was full of silence,

“ma’am dani nandito na po pala kayo, dadalhin ko nalang po ang bag niyo po sa kwarto niyo.“

i smiled, “sige, thank you aling roanne.”

“ma'am, hindi na po ba talaga kayo magbabati ni sir lawrence?“ pangungulit sa’kin ni aling roanne.

“malabo na po aling roanne, nakakain na po kayo ng dinner?“ i changed the topic dahil hanggang ngayon ay umaasa pa rin si aling roanne na magkakabalikan pa kami ni lawrence. i never knew why she finds hope to our complicated love story ni lawrence.

i went upstairs and i was about to open the door when i heard giggling from the inside, it was felise.

“e anong sabi ni tita kath?”

“she believed that woman's words, diba? napaka-sinungaling talaga na kahit mama ko, kayang paniwalain sa mga kasinungalingan niya.”

i entered the room, the atmosphere suddenly changed, felise who was making herself comfortable sa side of the bed ko suddenly stood up and bowed her head towards me.

“felise, you don't have to-” lawrence was about to finish.

“mag-enjoy lang kayo, hm? kukunin ko lang 'yung blanket ko. ayoko lang madumihan.“ i smiled fakely. alam kong na-trigger si Lawrence doon pero, who cares?
