𝘛𝘞𝘌𝘓𝘝𝘌
AO'NUNG AND SEYLU HAD THE typical brother and sister relationship. They would call each other names, scream at each other, argue over toys, attempt to drown each other, and even set up traps to injure the other if their feud was that serious. Ao'nung was the only one who didn't change the way he treated or viewed Seylu the same after her accident, and she loved him for it.
Though they always fought, Ao'nung cared for his big sister so much, and he enjoyed all the time they spent together. They walked together with Tuk and Rotxo down the beach towards the ilu pens to venture to the Spirit Tree.
"When are you getting your next tattoo?" Rotxo asked the older girl, his curly hair unraveling with the humidity.
"When I choose my mate." Seylu answered, holding an excited Tuk's hand. Neteyam perked up at her words, his ears rising. Seylu shrugged off the spark of interest she felt, continuing to walk.
Ao'nung almost laughed at the thought of his sister choosing her mate. He couldn't imagine her actually finding a boy of her standards. "Where are you going to put it?" he asked.
"Right on my heart." Seylu said jokingly, her voice rising in pitch dramatically.
Ao'nung chuckled, but Rotxo narrowed his eyes at her. "Actually?" the young boy asked.
Seylu turned to him. "No, not actually, Rotxo." she said, not seeing the tall fruit tree in front of her. Ao'nung tried to warn her, but it was too late, and Seylu rammed her face into the tree, wincing as she stepped back.
"How bad are your eyes that you couldn't see that?"Ao'nung asked as Seylu held a hand to her head, Tsireya and Kiri quickly approaching her.
"They're very bad, skxawng." Seylu said, rolling her eyes as Tsireya removed Seylu's hand from the spot on her forehead.
Neteyam watched as Rotxo and Ao'nung laughed quietly, lifting Tuk up into his arms. "You might have a concussion."Kiri said, inspecting Seylu.
"Kiri, she has no idea what a concussion is." Neteyam reminded his sister. The Metkayina clan was not well versed in Sky People technology and terminology, and Neteyam knew Seylu didn't have a clue what Kiri was saying.
Kiri frowned. "Do you feel lightheaded?" she asked Seylu.
"No." Seylu shook her head.
"Sick to your stomach?" Neteyam rolled his eyes at Kiri's questions.
"No."
"Do you have blurry vision?"
Seylu narrowed her eyes at the Sully girl. "No, I just have scratches from a bird that sliced my eyes open." she said, and everyone smiled except for Kiri and Tuk, the younger girl just plain confused.
"Do you have a loss of balance?" Kiri continued.
"No." Seylu said.
"Do you have a headache?"
Seylu nodded. "Yes."
"Wonder why." Ao'nung muttered, but it was loud enough for everyone to hear. He winked at Seylu when she smiled.
"Because she walked headfirst into a tree?" Rotxo said as if it were obvious.
Seylu sighed. "Sure, let's go with that. Now, I'm fine, so let's just go to the Spirit Tree." she led the way towards the ilu pens, Tuk jumping down from her brother's arms to walk at her side.
