Aria was in the kitchen the next morning with her blue heeler by her feet. As she mixed the dog food with water a small smile graced her lips at the dog. Ena was arias whole world. She found the dog on the streets during a storm a year back. The little animal was shivering curled into a ball.
John B at first was reluctant to keep the dog insisting to take it to the shelter. After a week of arguments John B finally agreed to keep it. Although they had to keep it a secret from big John as it was his house. But soon enough big John had found the little dog on arias bed after she went to school. He wasn't mad, he was actually happy there was a dog in the house.
So aria names it Ena. Which means little fire.
" Yo JJ have you been outside yet " her brother's voice called through the small house indicating he was finally awake.
" I have polio bro, I can't walk " JJs muffled voice responsded. Silently a laugh escape the clutches of arias lips as she shook her head. Finally finishing up in the kitchen aria made her way out back where her brother was standing
" Morning Jonny " aria smiled kissing her brother in the cheek as she walked over to a fallen branch. Leaning down she picked up before a audible scream left her lips. The rat that was hiding beneath the branch looked up at the girl before scurrying through the grass.
Behind her john B was laughing as he watched the Interaction " Never knew you were afraid of rats Aria " John B laughed. The back door swung open revealing a out of breath JJ as he looked over at aria in concern
" What happened? " JJ asked after a second of silence. Soon aria grabbed a small branch that was lying on the floor tossing it at her brother who held a arm up to block the branch.
" Arias afraid of rats " John B laughed. Aria scoffed looking over at the hammock that was covered in branches. Ena was soon walking out the door and to aria sitting by her legs
" I am not. I just wasn't expecting it " aria defended herself as she pat ena on the back as the dog stuck it's tounge out wagging its tail.
" Yeah sure " John B laughed sarcastically. Rolling her eyes aria made her way to the hammock to start to clean it up. The hammock was her favorite part of the back yard. It was one thing her mother left behind after she left. Not that aria remembers much of her mother, she just remember her by the pictures and what she's left behind.
JJ and John B talked in the background as Aria laid in the hammock. Ena jumped up as well curling in a ball in her hips. Tilting her head to the side aria patted Ena soothingly.
" What you thinkin'? " JJ asked catching arias attention as she turned to watch her two favorite people with her hands clutching the side of the hammock resting her chin on her hands
