Never seen behind a door,
I was always ignored.
I never thought that I was being neglected,
It never crossed my mind that it could be suspected.
People thought that I was getting abused,
My parents were being accused.
Never seen behind a door,
My parents always gave me a chore.
"Go take care of your brother,"
I guess you could call me a second mother.
The house would always smell like cigarettes,
I'm sure I'll always regret.
That I never seen
what was behind that door.
