Chapter 16: Contradiction

Third Person POV

Once the day appeared, The group of Lan Cultivators and Wuxian already at the entrance of the Cloud Recesses. The Jade that fell in love with the sorcerer did not dare to look at the body of the man he loved. The sorcerer's head was covered, his body leaned horizontally on Xingche's horse. Wanyin didn't flinch his eyes from Lan Wangji's back, he's worried for the jade.

Smiling and cheers erupted from every corner in the palace coming from the Lan disciples, maids and butlers smiling faces bowing down to him. The horses came to a stop and the Knights got off their horses followed by both young Masters. Wangji watched as Xingchen carried Wuxian like a sack of potatoes and his heart clenched.

" How does it feel to be back home?" Wanyin broke the trance the older was in but Wangji ignored his question.

" Don't talk to me so casually Wanyin. Know your place.." Wangji answered coldly as he began walking in direction of XingChen and stopped the other young master.

" Let me deliver him to my father" Wangji insisted with determination.

It took a few seconds for the Yueguang Master to let Wangji carry Wuxian, and so, the raven haired Lan wrapped his arms around Wuxian's waist and below his knees, just like how he carried him to bed the past days.

" A-Zhan..?" Wuxian whispered very low, his body growing weaker and weaker every second, he hadn't eaten anything or drank anything.

" Silence.." Wangji muttered carrying Wuxian through the hallways of the Palace in the direction of the Throne Room where his father was waiting for them. The two lovers felt each other's pain, Wangji is still mad at Wuxian, at his disciples,to his supposed friends and Wuxian's body was getting weaker. Jade stopped in front of the big doors of the Throne Room, he knew that once those doors opened, everything would change.

" I love you.Don't ....be afraid.." Wuxian's mind became unstable, his eyes were closed and even if he opened, he would only see black. The sorcerer had whispered, hoping the man he loved still cared for him, leaning his covered head against the Jade's chest.Wangji didn't say a word again, instead he breathed in deeply and sighed.The doors opened revealing the Chief seated on his throne along with his mother. Master Lan stood at the center, glaring at the male on the arms of the second jade. The room is filled with the lan elders, with curiosity Xingchen eyes travelled across the room in search for the librarian but he didn't find him.

Wangji walked forward with the patriarch in his arms, walking past his Uncle. The glares from him are ignored. Wangji stopped when he was now in front of his Parents.

" Father.." he called out for the Chief not sparing a bow towards his father. His emotionless eyes are coldly staring at his parents. Yet, it's usual for both of them to be treated like that by their son. The Jade placed Wuxian on the floor just below the steps of the thrones.

" Wangji, Thank goodness you're okay" The Chief sighed contentedly and motioned for his son to go to him. The Jade glanced at Wuxian briefly before walking up to the steps and return the embrace his father hoped to have.

" Now sit beside me" The Chief's voice turned very serious and the young Jade obeyed.Once the Jade had sat down in his throne, the Chief waved his hand for XingChen. The Yueguang Master walked behind the sorcerer and waited for the Chief to begin his speech.

" Gentlemen, we are gathered here to celebrate my son's safe return from the hands of the last demonic cultivator alive." The Chief began while looking at the different faces around the room.

Wuxian's eyes were on the verge of closing and his body will soon give in to slumber. His head was palpitating within every second, his insides were screaming for any type of food, he felt nauseous but knew that his body wouldn't expulse anything since he hadn't eaten or drank anything. The sorcerer heard the distant speech of the Chief, his mind was somewhere else, besides being weak, Wuxian was thinking back to everything he did with Wangji.
