For those that didn't see the author's note: this is an AU I randomly thought up to celebrate 45k readers and because it helps me work on the actual story. In this AU, Ayda was captured by HYDRA when she was still young. I'll probably do more than one part for this but I can't say how many for sure.

Please, enjoy!!

Ayda's life had been nothing but torture for as long as she could remember. Wake up in her cell they tried calling a room. Train against other HYDRA experiments. Let her powers be tested. Then back to sleep to do it all again the next day. They couldn't wipe her like the others but she had stopped fighting when they killed Circe in front of her.

After many years, she was their prized assassin. Better than the traitor, the Winter Soldier, better than the best of the Red Rooms graduates, Black Widow. At this point, Ayda was the world's best, and HYDRA controlled her completely.

The scars on her body meant she had soulmates out there, but HYDRA had disfigured her marks so badly that they were unreadable. She remembered having ten of them. She had only had them for a few days before HYDRA had taken her.

Today was different. Today started when the security alarms went off. That could only mean one thing, someone was attacking the base and only one group was brave enough to try.

The Avengers

They had been a problem to HYDRA for years. More members had been added over time but Ayda's main focus of training had always been to fight them. Now it was time to put the training to the test.

Her cell door suddenly unlocked. One of the higher-ups that was always around stood in the opening. "We are being attacked by the Avenger's full force. They even brought the Asgardians. Now is your chance to take them out once and for all." He handed her mission bag over. It had her uniform and all of her weapons. "Hail HYDRA" He saluted.

"Hail HYDRA," Ayda replied robotically. She wasted no time dressing. Her black undershirt was hidden by special armor. It was as lighter than Kevlar and 10 times as strong. It would protect against almost anything. Her legs had similar armor and her head was covered by a black hood. She had several guns that were fastened to her body and even more knives. Two swords were fitted onto her back. A mask on her face hid the last of her features.

She rushed down a hall in the direction of her enemy. Ayda wasn't sure who she would see first but she had a plan. Using her magic, she cloaked herself. Nothing more than a trick of the light, Ayda slowly crept the last few feet to her first obstacle. Two men were creeping her direction down the hall. Both had long dark hair. One wore a black tactical uniform, not too different than hers. The other had on a strange mix of leather and metal armor. Ayda knew who they were. Loki from Asgard and the Traitor, The Winter Soldier. They both had weapons in hand, Loki a pair of daggers and The Soldier a gun.

As the pair stepped closer, Ayda could hear their conversation. The Soldier was speaking quietly but Ayda could hear him anyway, "I'm telling you, something is off. Ever since we got here, my skin has been crawling. And it's not because it's a HYDRA base."

Loki tilted his head as his eyes scanned the area. His gaze met her's and he raised his daggers, "Show yourself. There's no use hiding. I can see right through that spell of yours." The Soldier looked shocked for a moment before raising his gun as well, trusting his partner.

Without the element of surprise, Ayda went for the attack. She grabbed a sword from her back, forcing the cloaking spell off. She slashed at Loki with one sword before spinning, drawing the other, and slashing him again. Loki's eyes widened at the strength behind your swings. He barely managed to deflect your first two attacks. The Soldier had stepped back, trying to stay out of the way of the swinging blades.

Their blades clashed again and this time Loki managed to knock her back. The Soldier tried shooting out her leg once she wasn't so close to Loki, but it glanced off her body armor, making both men curse. Loki sent a stunning spell at her but she cast it aside with a spell of her own. This shocked both of the men.

"What do you want me to do?" The Soldier called out as Loki and Ayda circled each other. Loki didn't answer at first, "Get the Witchling. I have a bad feeling about this one." Ayda's eyes narrowed. If they brought the other sorceress, all bets were off. She was strong enough to take on one but not both at the same time. She lashed out at The Soldier this time, slicing through a spot in his armor, and sending him to his knee. Ayda drew a gun and held it to his head.

When she spoke, her voice was rough. Her vocal cords had been scarred and unused for so long, "Drop your weapon, Loki. I will not hesitate to shoot." She put her other hand on The Soldier's shoulder to hold him down. When her skin touched a sliver of exposed skin, she recoiled. Her hand suddenly felt too hot. She waved her hand, dropping the gun in her fear. Her skin felt like it was on fire and fire was the one thing Ayda feared.

With the momentary distraction, Loki managed to shove her back to the wall with a spell. Still stunned, Ayda couldn't react until it was too late. She was completely immobile. Now she panicked. If she wasn't successful with her mission, she would be punished.

Severely

She gathered all her power and threw it at the magic holding her. The power vanished with a snap and Loki slid back. His eyes widened. He looked at The Soldier and shouted, "Grab her!" The Soldier reached out and wrapped a hand around her upper arm. Ayda tried to get away, but The Soldier was stronger than her.  She pulled her arm back to deliver a punch but he caught her fist with his metal hand. He held on to her without squeezing too tightly.

Loki approached again once The Soldier was holding onto her. He had his hands raised with a spell forming in between. A powerful sleep spell by the looks of it. Ayda struggled and tried to evade his hands but failed. "Rest now, darling. Everything will make sense when you wake." He forced the spell into her. Ayda tried to resist but she had exhausted most of her energy in the fight.

She fell asleep.

That took way longer than I thought it would. I planned to write this out in a few days. It ended up taking way longer. This is kinda just to thank you guys for being so interested in my story. I'll be working on a few more episodes to go with this and try to work on the next actual chapter.
