In the dimly lit alley behind an abandoned warehouse, Draken and Takemichi stood facing each other. The rain poured down, reflecting the tension between them. The atmosphere crackled with unspoken emotions.
"Do you want me to leave?" Draken asked, his voice surprisingly gentle, yet tinged with frustration.
Takemichi wanted to say no, to hold onto the precious moments they had shared together, but fear paralyzed him. Their secret relationship was a fragile thread holding them both together amidst the chaos of their lives. Takemichi was terrified of losing it all.
Without waiting for an answer, Draken turned to walk away. His heart ached, but he couldn't bear the pain of rejection any longer. Just as he was about to take another step, Takemichi's hand shot out, grabbing the edge of Draken's shirt, silently pleading for him to stay.
For a moment, Draken hesitated. The grip on his shirt was a lifeline, a desperate attempt to hold onto what they had. He looked back at Takemichi, his eyes searching for something he couldn't quite put into words. Takemichi's eyes were filled with turmoil, but he couldn't find the courage to speak.
With a sigh, Draken gently removed Takemichi's hand from his shirt. "You can't keep doing this, Takemichi," he said, his voice wavering with emotion. "We can't keep living like this, in the shadows, hiding who we are."
Takemichi swallowed hard, trying to find the words he needed to express his feelings. But the fear held him captive, and he remained silent.
"I love you," Draken whispered, his voice barely audible over the sound of the rain. "But I can't keep being a secret, always hiding, always unsure of where I stand with you."
Takemichi's heart shattered at those words, realizing the pain he had caused Draken by not being brave enough to face the world together. The rain mixed with his tears as he tried to speak, but the words wouldn't come.
Seeing the torment in Takemichi's eyes, Draken felt a mix of love and frustration. He wanted to take him in his arms, to kiss away his doubts and fears, but he couldn't keep living like this. Not when it hurt so much.
"I need time to think," Draken said, his voice heavy with emotion. "Maybe we both do."
He turned away from Takemichi, walking into the rain without looking back. Takemichi stood there, feeling the weight of his decision bearing down on him. He wanted to chase after Draken, to tell him not to go, to promise that he'd be brave enough, but the words stayed stuck in his throat.
As the rain continued to pour down, Takemichi realized that he had to confront his fears, to be true to himself and to the person he loved.
Takemichi stood there, frozen in place, watching Draken's retreating figure through the curtain of rain. The sight of Draken walking away from him, hurt and frustrated, felt like a knife twisting in his heart. The weight of his own fear and indecision crushed him, leaving him feeling utterly powerless.
The sound of his own sobs mixed with the rain as Takemichi's emotions spilled over, unable to contain them any longer. He sank to his knees, feeling the cold wetness seeping through his clothes, mirroring the coldness that had settled in his heart. It was his fault; he knew it. He was the one holding them back, allowing fear to control him.
He replayed all the moments he had been too scared to take Draken's hand in public, the times he had avoided introducing him to his friends and family, and the countless opportunities he had missed to stand up for their love. He could see now how much pain he had caused Draken, the person he loved more than anything in the world.
Takemichi's anger at himself swirled with the frustration he felt towards his own timidity. Why had he let fear dictate his actions and keep their love hidden away? Draken deserved better than this, better than a love that couldn't stand up to the world.
