Y/N had been fortunate enough to get Paddock passes to a Formula 1 race and was given the opportunity to shadow the McLaren F1 Team for a day. Due to her being a Model, she had received this opportunity by her management. She eagerly accepted and was excited to see what life was like in the fast-paced world of Formula 1.

As Y/N and a group of other people, who also had the luck to get Paddock Passes, entered the Paddock, they were greeted by McLaren team members who would show them around. Y/N was given a tour of the team's garage and met the rest of the team. She was in awe of the technology and precision required to build and maintain a Formula 1 car.

"Yup, definitely a fast car.", someone said next to her. As she looked over to the guy who stood right beside her, she recognised him almost immediately. It was Lando Norris, one of the two drivers for McLaren. He smiled friendly at Y/N.

"Well, you'd know it the best.", Y/N chuckled. She was surprised to see Lando standing next to her, as she didn't see him there earlier, and talking to her.

"Y/N, right? You're that VOGUE girl.", Lando seemed to recognise her as well. Y/N was surprised by how friendly Lando was being towards her, considering they hadn't met before. She wasn't sure if he was just being polite or if he was genuinely interested in her presence here. Either way, she felt grateful for the opportunity.

"Yes, that's me." Y/N replied. "I think it's a really unique opportunity to see the behind-the-scenes of the world of Formula 1. It's all so impressive and fascinating. I never realized the amount of work and dedication that goes into it."

"Yeah, most people don't realise how much work the mechanics put into the cars or us drivers into the trainings, as we're trying to get the best results out of the car for the team to improve the cars performance.", Lando didn't thought that Y/N would think the whole world of cars and F1 would be so interesting and fascinating. Maybe he was a bit superficial towards her at that point because she worked a model.

"Are you into cars?", Lando asked next, genuinely curious about her reply to that.

"I'd consider myself as a car-liker, yes. But I have no clue about all those mechanical things, so you should probably don't ask me something about that.", Y/N replied, chuckling a little.

"No worries. It's really complex, even I sometimes don't have a single clue about what the mechanics are talking about.", Lando whispered the last part to her, so the other mechanics didn't hear him. Y/N made that laugh a little bit. Lando couldn't contain a grin as well.

For a moment, they both were just laughing a little bit, before Lando spoke again.

"Okay, I should probably get going. I have an engineer meeting in like 7 minutes.
See you around, hopefully."

"Bye Lando. It was nice meeting you, see you around.", Madeline said, giving him a little goodbye wave to which Lando smiled softly before he turned around and left.

As the tour went on, Y/N was in awe of the advanced technology that was used, and she couldn't help but picture herself driving one of these cars around the track.

After the tour, Y/N followed the group to the team's hospitality room for lunch. As she sat down at the table, she noticed Lando sitting opposite her. He smiled at her again and began talking about the upcoming race. Y/N was surprised by the amount of detail he went into, discussing the track, the weather for the race weekend and many more things. She couldn't believe how passionate and knowledgeable he was about the sport, and she found herself getting drawn into their conversation. They talked about everything from the cars and the drivers to the history of F1. But they also talked about Y/N and her career as a model. Well, mostly about her weirdest fashion shoot experiences yet and stuff like that, but Lando and Y/N still both had a great time.

Unfortunately, the day ended way quicker than Y/N had thought. She was sitting in her taxi, on the way to her apartment, as she got an notification on her phone all of a sudden.

She was used to getting emails, dms or other notifications, but it somehow this notification seemed to have much more importance, Atleast to Y/N in that moment.

Lando Norris started following you.

The notification from her instagram said. And just shortly after that, another notification followed.

Lando Norris sent you a message.

Y/N opened it right away.

Hey, remember me, VOGUE-girl?
Do you maybe want to go get some dinner in the next few days, if you should still be
around? 😉
