13 days until the wedding

While you were busy planning the wedding by yourself (because after the chairs you didn't trust Onceler to help out) Onceler busied himself at the office, sorting out contracts and various other files he had missed since your holiday. He found it to be a useful distraction to his inner demons.

He had been thinking a lot about Leon since the holiday, and he was starting to think he may of gone too far. Onceler decided that he would suppress these thoughts, as it was too late to do anything.

It wasn't just the holiday that made these thoughts come to his mind. He had recently seen a missing persons poster of Leon printed outside the time square. He paid Norma another hefty amount to sort out the theories. It was eventually pinned down to suicide or runaway, thank god.

He was also worried about his mom. Yes, she stole money from Oncelers business. But he felt he might've been a bit cruel to her. He had his assistant write up a letter addressed to her stating that if she didn't pay back what she stole: a whopping 3.2 mil,  he would be seeing her in court. Besides that, he knew she had already spent it, so she would be seeing him in court.

He wished that things could be easier, but alass, things would he sorted out soon enough. He would be a married man, and eventually he would have kids with you, the woman he loved to death. It was that thought that allowed the negative emotions to subside. That's what he thought. Until he saw a shadow in the corner of his eye.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" It was weird, no one was meant to be in his office unless they asked. The shadow moved around the room, eventually turning into a face he knew all too well.

"Remember me?" The ghost cackled, was he going crazy?

"What the- get outta here now!" Onceler was taken aback, but he didn't show his fear.

"Remember what you did to me?" Instantly, Leons face became bloodied and deformed, a bullet hole between his eyebrows.

"You're not real! Fuck off!" Onceler swatted his hand through Leon, he wasn't real.

"I'm not real, but I'm in your mind. I am what you fear most." Leons deformed face transformed once again, but this time it was worse. His face and body was rotted and grotesque, Onceler grimaced.

"If you're in my mind, I can tell you to leave. So LEAVE!" He shouted at the spirit, to no avail.

"I'll tell you what you fear the most Onceler, fate" With that, Leons rotting body changed into Oncelers own body, deformed and ugly. Onceler stared in fear at himself, the ghost smiled back sinisterly.

"This is fate, fate is something you can't escape. Your fate is to be alone. You'll be hearing from me" The ghost of Onceler disappeared in an instance, leaving Onceler in complete shock. If that was his fate- he couldn't handle that idea. The thought of dying so soon with no one that loved him and no one to help him. His biggest fear was loneliness, and now he felt truly alone.

Every time he looked at himself in the mirror, he saw that grotesque image of himself. Alone. No he has you. He would never let you go, not for anything.

Meanwhile, you were arguing with the caterer over the phone.

"You told me you could get that exact dish! Does no one listen to me?!" You hung up the phone, truly exhausted with the planning. You thought you could deal with this yourself, but maybe not. So, you ran Onceler

"Once? You ok?" You asked.

"Ugh, yeah. What's up honey?" He sounded really tired, this concerned you. You decided that you could put the planning aside for the rest of the day, to spend time with your fiancé.

"I'm hungry, want to go for some lunch?" You asked, concern etched in your voice.

"Sure, I'll pick you up-"

"No no! I'll pick you up, be there in 10" You said, he hung up the phone with that. What was up with him?

----

Onceler picked at his food with his fork, he looked sad.

"What's wrong Once?" You furrowed your brows, he looked at you.

"It's just been a long day, I'm abit tired" He sighed, you knew he was lying.

"Don't lie to me Once" You said, looking him in the eye.

"I'm not lying Y/N, I'm just really tired."

"Are you having second thoughts?" You asked hesitantly, his face immediately changed.

"What? Of course not! I love you so much!" He explained, you nodded.

"Okay, so what is it?"

"I think I'm just feeling a bit betrayed by my mom, I still can't believe she would do that" He said, that made sense.

"Oh, honey. I know, it's really shitty what she did to you. I'm here for you." You held his hand , smiling warmly at him.

"Let's go home, hmm?" You suggested, he nodded.

You made the both of you hot chocolate, snuggling on the couch while you watched Oncelers favourite movie : Despicable Me.
He suggested to watch an action film, but you thought a lighthearted film would be a better idea. Onceler grabbed a bag of marshmallows from the cupboard to snack on while you watched the film.

"Your such a sweettooth" You giggled, he smile at you.

"Marshmallows are just so good! I don't get how anyone could possibly dislike them" He went on to tell the story of how he fed the forest animals marshmallows to gain their trust, ending in you both in a fit of laughter. You were happy that he had cheered up, although he still seemed kinda distant.

You were also worried about the wedding, things seemed to be going wrong one thing after another. You decided that even if you got married in a ditch, at least you'd be getting married to the only person in the world you could ever see yourself with. You loved him so much it made you ill. Though, you were always happy around him, even if you were arguing, laughing or crying. You were always happy.
