As I sit on the ground I decided to take a look at my stats. Luckily my inventory still has the guard suit. I also noticed that I got a 'first fight' achievement along with a ton of notifications.

After a few minutes of going through my stats and notifications, I spiraled out on the cold concrete floor only to jolt up as I hear movement to my side. Looking over as I try to swiftly get up I noticed that the shuffling sound came from Imani. I don't know why she's here with me. Usually, solitary confinement forces you to be by yourself, doesn't it?

"Relax, I'm not gonna hurt you."

I nod as I hesitantly lay back on the ground. I couldn't help but feel slightly bad at the sound of her voice. She sounded so defeated and tired.

"H-hey um, are you okay?"

I asked as I turn my head towards her moving my arms under my head to act as a pillow.

Imani sat in the dark corner of the small room? Pit? Wherever the hell this is. She looked almost like a traumatized kid as she held her knees close to her chest with her head buried in them. I hear a small sniffle come from her.

"I...I d-don't know a-anymore to be honest."

Her voice cracked as the sniffling continued. My eyebrows furrowed in concern. I know I should keep my guard up since she could be tricking me but she just sounded so genuine. As I try to fight back the want to comfort her I could hear my mother's ill voice scolding me in my head, telling me that she raised me better than that.

After a few minutes, I release one final sigh before getting up and walking toward Imani. She remained unphased by my closer proximity. I sit next to her while also keeping a good amount of distance between us. The last thing I need is for her to pull a fork on me as she did with the other woman.

We sit in silence as only the sounds of her occasional sniffles and some guard's footsteps from above walk by now and again.

"Thank you by the way."

I turn my head towards her and tilt it slightly in confusion.

"Thank you for what? I didn't do anything...well other than accidentally break you and Haven's lunch table. Sorry about that by the way."

Imani lifts her head from her knees as a low velvety chuckle leaves her mouth. She turns her head to me and gives me a small but sincere smile. I look in front of me as I feel my cheeks heat up slightly in embarrassment.

"Yeah, I'll admit that wasn't the best first impression."

Imani's fingers grab my chin gently as she turns my head towards her.

"What I meant was, thank you for standing up for me and Haven. Even if you got your butt handed to you."

I smiled before I realized she just gave me a backhanded compliment.

"Wha- I'll have you know I held up pretty well in that fight. Dare I say I was even winning before you intervened."

"Oh please. Being underneath her as she knocks the living daylights out of you and rolling around on a broken table is hardly a winning fight."
