F I V E new years & new beginnings
EMERSON FINALLY DECIDED to get out of the house for new years. the one party of the year no one could miss
the death of her brother was slowly starting to get easier for the girl, as she decided if she ignored ashtray she wouldn't have memories of that night
her brother never really went to parties anyways, he hung out with his friends. so she didn't have much that could give her a memory and make her break down.
she decided to wear a black glittery dress with a slit on the thigh, making her figure look amazing. from the 6 months people have seen her, she's more mature and had a glow up
grabbing her converses and throwing them on, picking out a necklace that had a "J" craved into it and then another with a star.
before texting her friends she was ready to go to the party and they can come get her whenever
maddy and her friends picked up emerson as they drove to the party, "hey em, how you holding up?" maddy asked as em smiled
"been good" she said "your brother still on vacation?" bb asked as em froze "yeah, for a while" she spoke as they nodded
emerson didn't tell her friends he passed, just that he went on vacation and went ghost, so they all felt bad for it
"well tonight, let's get fucked up" maddy spoke as they all cheered "make a move on a guy tonight" kat spoke to em
she smirked "i'll try" she spoke as they continued to talk and as they arrived. they all got out of the car and split ways
emerson went to the drinks, spotting jules pouring something "jules!" emerson yelled "hey em!" jules spoke as the friends hugged
"i haven't seen you at a party in forever" jules spoke as em frowned "yeah.. some things just happened" she spoke
jules noticed the mood switch that emerson showed, jules frowned before asking "are you okay?" jules asked as em nodded
"brother went on vacation and stopped texting that's all" em spoke as jules nodded knowing the two were close
"wanna take shots?" emerson spoke as jules smiled as they two took some shots before scrunching their noses in disgust laughing "gross"
"i'm gonna go find rue" jules spoke as emerson nodded, before walking past a couch
someone called her name on the couch, she looked over and noticed lexi, and fezco. emerson smiled at lexi but froze at fezco
"have you seen cassie?" she asked, emerson thought about it "i think i saw her go in the bathroom, don't know" emerson spoke as lexi thanked her, before lexi got up to check the bathroom
she looked at fezco one more time, he was about to say something before she shook her head and walked away
she went outisde, noticing kat and jules. she smiled before walking over, as she sat down next to her two friends
"hey em" "emmy" jules and kat spoke greeting the girl, "any boys catching your eye?" jules asked em as she shook her head no
"every boy here is either to old or not attractive" emerson spoke making the two friends laugh, "do you guys wanna go back inside?" she asked as they agreed
a lot of people said hello and talked to the girl as they haven't seen her in a while, which she was grateful for everyone who checked up on her, even troy, roy and mckay did
emerson went over to the drinks, as she poured something. nate jacobs, who was next to her said something to her
"emerson, how's your life been" he said as she turned to him "it's been fine, you?" she spoke before he brought it up
"why isn't your brother answering my calls?" he asked as she looked over to fezco and now ashtray who was next to him
"he's on vacation, don't know. he hasn't answered me either" she spoke looking at the boy
he nodded suspiciously "well, i'm here if anything happens" he spoke as she smiled "thanks nate" before the two went there ways
nate was always nice to emerson, but she didn't really like him as a person, but ignoring those thoughts she went and found maddy
"ashtrays been eyeing you all night" maddy spoke as emerson frowned "doubt it" she spoke as maddy smiled "you had a huge glow up! every guy has been looking at you"
"i dont think ash is eyeing me for a good reason" emerson spoke as maddy turned to her "what do you mean?"
"remember? last part he said if i showed to a deal he would do something and i'd regret going?" she spoke as maddy nodded
"i'm assuming you went to a deal?" maddy spoke as emerson nodded "don't tell anyone, on your life" she spoke "on my life" maddy said
"i think they told my brother somethign about a vacation and that's why he hasn't answered" she spoke lying
"weird, you should ask them about it. i know how upsetting it's been for you" maddy spoke as the friends hugged, noticing it's time for new years countdown
as everyone got up cheering getting excited for it to be new years, some people had other plans

"happy new years!" maddy, cassie and emerson said as they all hugged before fezco smashed a drink on nate's head
beating him up as everyone gasped and backed away. but still recorded it, fezco was beating him up
maddy and cassie trying to get him off and mckay did as well, but fezco wouldn't get off
emerson just watched in horror, there was blood everywhere, like when ashtray killed mouse and jayden, and custers nose became broken
before fezco got off, and walked away. maddy, cassie and mckay oicked nate up and took him to maddys car
emerson watched as she was in shock, before leaving the house as well, no ride home, and everyone she knew left
as she walked on the sidewalk, she thought about how she would've had a ride home, she wouldn't of felt so awkward and out of place
as she continued to walk, few tears falling down her face as she wasn't near home but was almost at a halfway point
a car slowed down, "yo em, get in the car" rue yelled as emerson looked over "i'm good, thanks" she spoke before she kept walking
"emersonnn! get in the car let's gooo" rue spoke as emerson kept walking "come on, em" fez spoke before emerson rubbed her hands over her face
"i don't wanna be in a car with a-" she spoke before rue spoke up "what?" she asked
"ask your friends" emerson shrugged before she continued to walk "i don't need a ride home; drive off" she spoke as ashtray drove off
thinking about it more and more, this was a new beginning for the girl. and she was glad that she can finally stick up for herself
as she got home, she took a shower and scrolled on her phone, before seeing a instagram dm request, pressing on it. her eyebrows furrowed
