savages-
Squids, or are they beasts?
Huddled in the darkest depths
Rocks of ancient
Forgotten spaces
Sunken to the ends
Savage and ugly,
The squids lay still
Snickers and whispers passed one to another
whites of eyes, so wide they glowed
skin of grease in the blackened troughs
Rasps in whispering tones they sent
To the trident-holder by the caves,
Ink-y gossip, in return for food
today they feast on jelly blue.
