Fifty Six

Person POV:

We see all the Attendings in the conference room discussing the residents and where they will be going for their fellowships.

Owen: where are we with Avery?

Mark: holding offers from USC, Penn, Tulane, and Emory. Tulane and Emory are in love. They want him bad.

Owen: Grey?

Derek: uh, still between Boston and Seattle.

Owen: if I'm gonna lose one of my talented residents and my top neurosurgeon, I'd love a decision sooner than later.

Derek: you and me both, Hunt.

Owen: I'm just thankful that my trauma star is staying here.

Derek: I feel bad for leaving her. She's my best student. If I had it my way, I'd beg her to come with me to Boston so I can continue teaching her.

My POV:

Everything was in full swing at Meredith's house. In honor of passing our boards, we decided to throw a party at Mer's. I'm currently dancing on the table with Mer and Cristina.

Meredith: we passed our boards!

Cristina: we killed the boards!

Savannah: we crushed our boards, baby!

I dance with them for a little while then I stumble over to Jackson, Natalie and Alex.

Savannah: heeeeey, baby!

Jackson chuckles at me as he wraps his arms around my waist.

Jackson: you having fun, baby?

Savannah: hell yeah, I am!

I pull Jackson away from Natalie and Alex then I pull him into a kiss. The kiss started getting heated, then I hear someone's phone ring.

Cristina: wait, wait, wait. Music.

Meredith paused the music then Cristina answers the call.

Cristina: this is Dr. Yang. Mhmm. Mhmm. Well, that does certainly give me a lot to think about. Thank you so much for calling.

Cristina ends the call.

Cristina: Mayo wants to give me a research lab. Guess who's back in the running!

We all cheer for Cristina then we turn the music back up to full volume. April starts partying even harder, and I couldn't help but stare at her sympathetically.

Savannah: God, I feel so bad for her. She should've passed. As her best friend, I want to help her, but I don't know how to.

Jackson: you can only do so much, sweetie.

Just then, my phone starts ringing.

Savannah: music. Music!

Meredith turns the music down and I answer the call as Natalie stands next to me.

Savannah: this is Dr. Savannah Collins speaking. Mhmm. Okay. Oh, wow. That is a lot to consider. Thank you for the call.

I end the call.

Savannah: Baylor wants me to give me a research lab and co-head of the neuro department!

Everyone cheers as Meredith turns the music back up.

Jackson: why are you even taking these calls if you're staying?

Natalie: with every offer she gets, Owen and Derek give her the cooler cases to make sure she stays.
