Chapter 3:

Maybe it's because the father and son duo were so different from each other, or maybe it's because they were similar in so many ways too, I can't really pinpoint what exactly is weird between Fushiguro Toji and Fushiguro Megumi.

So instead of minding my own business, I did a little digging, but sadly I got nothing out of 'Fushiguro'. Not even the other parents knew who Fushiguro Toji was or where he came from.

"Natsu-sensei! One of Megumi's little classmates called out crying, "Fushiguro won't share!" he cried as he pointed to Megumi who was sitting in the corner with his white dog plush,

"I'll talk to him," I assured the little boy and approached Megumi who was surprisingly moodier than usual, "Megumi-kun, is everything okay?" I then noticed he was pouting at his plush, the tail was almost detached from its body,

"He tried taking Shiro from me but I didn't want to," Megumi mumbled. He named his white dog plushie after his puppy at home, how cute! Anyway, I sat beside him and placed my hand on top of his head, hoping to comfort him with the best of my abilities.

"Why don't you want to share?" I questioned, he did not answer, "Hey, Megumi, how about after class you come over to my place and I'll fix up Shiro for you," I noticed his eyes twinkle with hope that his friend will be okay, "Let's put Shiro in your bag so he wouldn't get more hurt, okay?" He nodded and headed to his bag to secure his stuffed animal.

I then headed to Megumi's classmate who was crying earlier,

"Hiro-kun, it wasn't nice to take someone's things especially if they said no," I reprimanded the little boy who huffed at me, "What are you going to say to someone you've hurt?"

"Sorry--," He mumbled lowly as he pouted his lips and crossed his arms over his chest. Obviously, apologizing to Megumi was against his wishes.

"Good," I patted the boy on the head, "And how about you Megumi-kun? What do you say when you've made someone cry?"

"Sorry--," Megumi mumbled lowly as well, I also gave him a pat on the head. This argument was a lot easier to handle than the fistfight from yesterday.

After classes have ended, Megumi and I headed to my apartment to wait for Fushiguro Toji. As much as I didn't want a stranger knowing where I lived, I didn't want to spend the whole evening at school, I also have chores to finish so I guess this setup was the best for all three of us.

"What do you want to eat for dinner, Megumi?" I asked the raven-haired boy as he was sitting on the couch completely distracted by the new surroundings. I headed to where he was and pulled off his backpack and coat then set it on the couch's armrest. "How about I fix Shiro up while you think of what you want to eat for dinner?"

I pulled out his plush from his backpack and headed to my room to get my sewing kit, I quickly went back to the living room and sat beside Megumi so he could watch his friend's little 'surgery'.

"Will he be okay?" Megumi looked so worried, despite being mature for his age, he does have some childlike tendencies, for example, his attachment to his dog plushie. I never had any attachment towards anything whether it be objects or people, so I honestly can't understand Megumi's worries but it's good to see him experience other emotions since he barely shows any.

"Done! Shiro's surgery is a success!" I cheered as I handed Megumi his stuffed animal. The twinkle in his eyes when he saw his friend was better was indeed priceless, he quickly hugged his friend tightly in his arms, "I've been meaning to ask, where's Kuro?"

"I don't have one," Megumi pouted,

If Megumi was so attached to his 'demon dogs' why didn't Fushiguro Toji ever get him a pair for his white dog? Why did I even bother to ask, of course, he wouldn't care. It's not like his father was the type to do so.
