Richie's POV:

Ugh, valentines day.

I personally don't like Valentines day.

"All the couples acting like they are never allowed another day of the year to show affection. It's stupid!" I spout to Eddie, literally the only other Loser who doesn't have a partner.

"I think it's sweet."

"Ya? Well I think it's fake, if you love someone as much as you show you do on valentines day, why not just treat them that well every day?!" I ramble, "I mean, if your confessing to someone, I get that, but if your already in a relationship, it just seems fake!"

Eddie looks out at the school yard, filled with couples.

Well, mostly all couples.
The Bowers gang is at the end of the field. Non of them are with a date, their just tormenting the couples that stand to close.

"I guess someone agrees with you" Eddie laughs as he points to Henry and his crew as they poke fun at a random couple.
I giggle as he says that.

"What about you?" I ask Eddie, "I've never seen you with a valentines date. What are your opinions on the day?"

Eddie looks down as his feet as they swing back and forth "Well, I do think it's cute. It makes me smile seeing other couples happy."

"So why have you never asked someone out? I mean, if you think it's so cute, why haven't you found a girlfriend to pamper with gifts today?"

"Reasons"

"Oh... and what are these mysterious reasons that you have?"

"Reasons your not allowed to know." Eddie looks away blushing.

"You like someone, don'tcha?"

"I!-...maybe..."

"Oh we'll do tell! I would love to know who managed to get the key to my dear Eddie's heart." I say with fake excitement.

I sit there watching him think of what to say.

I hope for an answer I know he'll never give.

I don't even know why I asked that question.
It'll only hurt me to know the answer.

It'll only hurt knowing what beautiful girl he likes.
The girl that is probably the exact opposite of me.
The girl that will just further prove my point showing that he'll never like me back.

Even with all that I keep an excited looking smile on my face.

"It's, uh. Well, um, h- she is uh. Never mind." Eddie stutters out.

"Come on Eddie, your not Bill, formulate a sentence."

"I already said never mind."

"Alright, alright, I won't push it!"

My heart gives a sigh of relief yet also sobs.
I don't know who the girl is.
But I know there's a girl
