Love was in the air in Osaka, Japan.
The flowers were blooming and the leaves were growing. Spring was arriving. The country was filled with wonder and gracefulness. Peace and serenity.
On one end of a village lived a boy, a poor boy with no money, no parents, nothing. His name was Bradisuke. His parents had abandoned him when he was only a baby. They left him in a dumpster without anything. He had nothing with him, so he had to beg and he had to find and eat whatever scraps he could salvage. But his heart was filled with kindness and joy. He stored all the bad things beside him and let the good side out.
The only thing Bradisuke was missing was someone to share his life with. He was sad and bored all the time. Not to mention lonely. He decided to clean of the clothes that he wore and cleaned his hair. He walked through the market to find someone his age. Bradisuke walked through the market where he could smell delicious food. He couldn't afford food like that. It didn't mean he couldn't look upon it with wishful eyes.
After 2 minutes of staring he continued his journey in search for a friend and saw a dirty, old pizza box. A smile stretched across his dry cracked lips as he lifted the box and found the most amazing find ever.
A leftover slice of cold, near rotten pizza with a bite taken out of it.
Bradisuke picked it up and held it like it was the fragilest thing he had ever held, and slowly took a bite. The bitterness of the molded cheese and the saggy olive slices tasted like heaven. At the end of it, Bradisuke wished he wasn't so hungry and could've saved it for a worse day. But after remembering this was the first meal he had eaten in 3 days, he continued on with a huge smile on his face, happy that the gods had been so kind to him to bestow such a gift.
On the other side of the market was a beautiful maiden. As gorgeous as she was on the outside, she was hideous and dark on the inside. Her name was Fongkura. She didn't care about people poorer than her. She was the richest person in the country, besides the Queen and King. She only cared for those who were slightly richer than her so that she could get their money. She wanted someone to share her life with too. The only person she had in mind was the Prince of Japan, Rexruto. Fongkura thought that he was handsome, she loved him the way she loved money, and he did back. The two lovers were soon engaged, woven together with their equal love for money and power.
Bradisuke was walking around the market. He wondered around the market pretending to look sophisticated. He then saw honeydew on the other side of the maret that got him so excited from the juice he could see inside it. So he ran to it in full speed. As he ran he accidentally banged into the black hearted heir.
"I'm sorry Ma'a-" Bradisuke stopped as he looked up at Fongkura.
"Ugh! Who are you?! You made me fall down! Get out of my way!" Fongkura scolded the peasant.
He stood up and helped the maiden up but she refused. Rexruto came and slapped Bradisuke. "Who do you think you are touching my fiance?!" Rexruto scolded.
Bradisuke ran away back to his dumpster. He couldn't sleep that night, he was thinking about the lovely maiden he saw today. He didn't care about how she was on the inside, only her beauty. Bradisuke was drunk in her beauty, he didn't do anything else. He spent the next week stalking her, he wasn't hungry or thirsty much. Bradisuke was hypnotized, more than anyone in the country. But then he thought to himself, "Why would some beautiful person like her love someone who's poor and smelly. Besides, she's engaged." But he wanted her in his life anyways, so he decided to confess to her.
During a ball that Fongkura had planned the day before her wedding, Bradisuke decided to dress nicely with the tuxedo he had found in one of the garbage places. He cleaned of himself and walked to Fongkura's mansion. The music was very loud and Bradisuke didn't know what to do or what was going on. He was so confused, until he saw Fongkura. His heart was filled with joy, he didn't know what to do. Bradisuke took a deep breath until he was serene. His heart was pumping, he was so nervous. He freaked out for a second so he drank some punch from a table. While he was drinking it, he accidentally spilled it on his tuxedo.
After the incident, he went to the stairs where Fongkura was talking to her friends.
"Um... Hi?" Bradisuke said nervously.
"Oh. You, the disgusting boy who ran into me in the market. I didn't invite you to my party!" Fongkura said.
Bradisuke sighed. "No, you didn't."
"Then why are you here?!" Fongkura exclaimed.
"Because I wanted to tell you I love you." Fongkura laughed in Bradisuke's face.
"The whole country loves me, do you want my autograph or something?" She laughed.
"No, I want you to love me, like I love you." Bradisuke admitted, shying away from Fongkura.
"Oh, you're serious," Fongkura deadpanned, "Well I don't like or love you. So get away from me! I never want to see you again!" Fongkura shouted at Bradisuke and had the guards kick him out of her mansion.
And after that, Bradisuke died in sadness without anyone beside him.
