After much thought and arguing and back-and-forthing with her mom, Camilla decided that Elena was gonna attend the Halloween dance and have a good time, much to her daughter's dismay.

So here she was, dressed as Carrie at the prom, in a thigh-length, champagne-pink dress with fake blood and white fishnet tights and heels. On her head sat a silver tiara. She took a sip of her punch and looked around at everyone, silently observing.

She stopped when she saw a skeleton staring at her. She couldn't tell who it was because of the black and white face paint but considering he was with Eli and Demetri, she realised it was their new friend and her new neighbour. You know, the one who hasn't spoken to her in a while. It didn't take a genius to figure out why, Miguel had obviously heard the truth about Elena and ignored her instead of clearing things up with her.

After a short while, her phone pinged and she looked to see someone had sent her and every other student a video. As they all clicked the video on their phones, they saw a girl named Aisha eating Cheetos on a loop with a pig's snout emoji over her nose and in pink writing, it said 'the buffet table is under attack'.

As every other student erupted with laughter, Elena scoffed and rolled her eyes before making her way out.

Before she could react, two boys came running towards her and accidentally pushed past her.
"Shit! I'm really sorry, Elena. Please, don't hurt us," One of them shouted before continuing to run off. She realised it was Demetri and Eli, but their third friend wasn't with them.

She turned and continued walking when she spotted the very familiar blonde guy who just happened to be everywhere. He looked up and spotted her too.

She threw up her arms, "What the hell are you doing here, you weirdo?"

He held up those stupid yellow posters again, pointedly, "Putting up flyers."

"At the school?!"

"This is where all the kids are," He argued back.

"You sound like a pedo. Are you even allowed to be here, around kids?"

"Yes?" He stuck another poster on the wall.

"By the way, your posters suck. No one's gonna look at this shit and feel inspired to join. They're either gonna laugh at you or turn a blind eye."

Johnny shrugged and sighed, "Well, how else do I get people to join, Carrie?"

Elena shrugged, "Social media? There's other ways to promote your business than sticking up stupid posters, you know."
