I'm on the phone with Tristan.
"So when am I delivering this gift to you?" He asks.
"What gift?" I ask laughing.
"Your christmas gift." He says as if it's the most obvious thing ever.
"You didn't have to get me a gift."
"I wanted to. Plus it's the closest christmas thing I'll be doing."
"What's that mean?"
"My dads out of town so christmas won't even be celebrated here."
"Please tell me you're joking."
"I'm not."
"Can I call you back in 5 minutes?"
"Sure."

I hang up and run downstairs.
"You can't have another cup." Dad says to me. I roll my eyes.
"No, I have something serious to talk about."
"What?"
"Tristans dad isn't gonna be here for christmas. Can he spend it here?" I ask. Dad looks at me before sighing.
"What are the chances of me saying no and it not happening?"
"Very low."
"Sure."
"Thanks!"

I run back upstairs and call Tristan.
"Yes?"
"You're coming over for Christmas. It's settled."
"You didn't have to." Tristan says. "I don't wanna disturb anything."
"You won't be. It's just me and my dad. And he doesn't even like christmas. He's cold hearted." I say. I hear Tristan laugh.
"Okay, fine."
"Great. See ya on on Christmas eve." I laugh.
"See you."

Tristan pulls up infront of the dinner. I run out to meet him.
"Happy christmas eve." I say smiling to him.
"Happy christmas eve, Mills." Tristan says throwing his arm over me while we walk inside.

"Hello, Tristan." Miss Patty says.
"Hey Miss Patty. How you been?" Tristan asks.
"Great. And you?"
"Just swell."

"Go put your stuff upstairs. I'll get you coffee." I say. He nods going upstairs.
"Camille dear. Come here." Babette says. I walk over.
"Hi."
"You've been bringing Tristan around quite a lot havent you?" She asks.
"Plus he's got a bag. Is he spending the night?" Miss Patty asks.
"Leave her alone." Dad says walking over. I smile thankfully to him. "Go get that coffee."

I walk to the counter and serve my coffee.
"Can you pass me the sugar?" Kirk asks. I nod handing it to him.

Tristan walks down and sits across from me.
"So what's the plan?" He asks.
"It's early so I say we walk around a bit, then we go watch the Christmas Eve thing the whole town does." I say.
"Sounds good." He smiles. I hand him his cup of coffee.
"Let's go."

We walk out and I tell him about what Miss Party and Babette said. He laughs.
"I'm the talk of the town."
"You're you." I laugh.
"What's that mean?"
"Well, you're rich, gorgeous, and hanging around me."
"You think I'm gorgeous?" He asks turning to me.
"Get over yourself." I say pushing his chest.

"Wanna go see the antique shop? It's Lanes moms store."
"Isn't that the place you're too scared to go into?" Tristan asks laughing.
"No it's the place that is terrifying to enter. Not that I'm too scared."
"Oh my mistake."
"Im gonna go give Lane her gift though."
"Okay, let's go." He says. I smile.

We walk in. I turn to him.
"Be very careful. If you break anything you-."
"You break you buy!" I hear Mrs. Kim yelling at someone.
"Okay." Tristan ask stepping carefully.

"Hi Mrs Kim." I say walking to her.
"Camille. Boy."
"I'm here to talk to Lane."
"She's upstairs."
"Okay, we'll go see her."
"No! Boy cannot he in Lanes room."
"This boy is my friend Tristan." I say.
"Hello." Tristan mutters.
"Boy must stay downstairs."
"I'll be right back." I say to Tristan. He nods.

I run upstairs and Lane and I exchange our gifts.
"We can't open until tomorrow." Lane says after me.
"I'm aware." I laugh.

I go downstairs and see Tristan talking to Mrs. Kim about a table.
"Ready?" He asks me. I nod.
"Bye Mrs Kim." I say.
"Goodbye."

We walk out.

"I see what you mean now." Tristan says. "She never once called me anything but boy."
"It's okay. You've been called worse." He nods and we both laugh.

After walking around for a bit it starts to get dark.
"Come on." I say grabbing Tristan's arm to drag him to the christmas tree in town.

I move closer to Tristan for warmth as everyone crowds around to see all the lights get turned on. Once they all get turned on I look up at Tristan to see him smiling at me.
"Pretty right?" I ask.
"Very." He whispers. I smile.

We watch the little performance before walking back to the diner as well as most of the people since they want to warm up.

"Do you have-?" Tristan starts while we sit.
"Pie?" Dad asks.
"Yeah."
"Your pies upstairs. I recommend you go up there so a paying costumer can sit." Dad says.
"Roger that." Tristan says standing up. I laugh grabbing his arm and pulling him up the stairs.

I pull out his pie and two forks while he takes his coat off. I take mine off and throw it on my bed.
"Come on, the beds way more comfy." I say to Tristan. He walks over and sits next to me.

"I'm a little disappointed you didn't decorate your room." Tristan says looking around.
"Yes I did! There's the tree right there." I say pointing to my mini lit up tree in the corner.
"That's literally it."
"I usually do. I was just a little preoccupied this year."
"With?"
"Talking to this one really aggravating blonde rich kid I know." I say smiling.
"Is he gorgeous?" Tristan asks with a smirk.
"Some would say." I say smiling.

I turn on the TV and pull the blanket over me and Tristan.

I lean my head on his shoulder setting my fork down on the bed side table.
"Thank you for having me." Tristan says.
"I wasn't going to let you spend Christmas alone." I say yawning.
"Go to sleep." He says turning to me.
"Merry Christmas Eve Tristan." I mutter.
"Happy Christmas Eve, Mills." Tristan says pressing a kiss on my forehead.
