I spent the whole week doing my best avoiding Kayden , i sat as far away from him in our classes , I quickly get myself out of the conversation when he initiated to start one

I never acted like this but i felt kinda weird after our dinner the other night , I've never been on a real date before

My stomach keeps fluttering, my mind keeps repeating the images of his face inside my head , his beautiful annoying face

It was Saturday afternoon , i was at the bakery , doing my usual shift , until I spotted the last person in earth to walk in

Kayden

My eyes widened and my mouth fell open when i saw him as i turned away ;" what are you doing?" Samantha , my colleague asked as she was serving the customer

" I can't let that guy see me " I whispered to her and she cocked her brows at me , probably because this was the first time i ever acted weird

I just didn't feel comfortable letting Kayden know about my part time job , the only people who knew was my sister and Jade , not even her boyfriend knew

Before Samantha could say anything , i heard a small cough behind me and i knew i was busted

Alright Audrey , there is no escape from this anyway

I forced a large nervous smile on my face as i turned to face him , raising my hands in the air
;" Kayden ! I didn't see you there !" He laughed
;" sure you did , and then you turned away"

" silly why would i do that ?" I asked , knowing damn well why would i do that , all he did was smile at me , scanning my face and my uniform

" wh-what can i get you ?" I asked , trying to break his burning gaze on me that had my heart beating so fast

" I'm actually here to order a cake , would you mind show me your bests ?" He stated and i rapidly nodded my head as i walked him to where the cakes are on display

We stood together as i told him about the ingredients and flavor of every cake we had
" I'll take this one , but not now I'll come for it later today" he said as he pointed at a chocolate cake decorated with macaroons

" sure , i'll tell Samantha to register it on your name " i said as i walked back to the checkout and he followed and stood in front of me , ready to pay for it already

" so , whose birthday is it ?" I asked out of blurry and i immediately cursed myself for it . What the hell am i doing ? This isn't me , I don't intrude

He looked up at me , surprised from my question . Trust me , even i am surprised from myself

" actually it's one of my friends , his name is Liam , and every one of us has its errands to do , mine is to get a cake " he explained as he gave me his credit card and told me the code for it

" all done " i said as i gave him back the card and gave him the receipt . He thanked me and said goodbye as he began walking towards the door

Suddenly , he stopped and turned to me again
" do you wanna come to the party with me ?" He asked sternly , i got startled i had no idea what to say

" ee-eh no , he's your friend I don't know him-" I stuttered and he interrupted ;" Audrey , i'm inviting you , please come with me" he said in a teasing tone and I couldn't help but to laugh at the " please" word

" i-i don't know I'm not sure " i said as i looked down and played with my fingers , he grabbed them and stopped me ;" trust me , It'll be fun , plus you'll be with me , i did leave a good impression at dinner that night didn't i ?" He asked as we both laughed ;" yes you did "
