I smiled softly to myself as the breeze hit my face. It had been a long drive, but we are now driving upstate. The autumn leaves fell to the ground. One fell into the car. I closed the windows and picked up the leaf, staring at it. Its vibrant red and orange colours contrasted beautifully against the dark interior of the car.

"You like this place so far?" Xaviah asked while looking at me as he finally reached our property. It was a large place, full of tall trees and gorgeous scenery.

"Hey, focus on driving." I said, chuckling. He looked at me with a grin on his face. "But yeah, I do; I'm going to take a better look at it later." I said, looking out the window. The leaf slipped out of my hand and fluttered out the window as we drove furthur

"Well, why not now?" he said.

"What?" I retorted, confused.

He got out of the car, leaving me alone. He then opened my car door. and held out his hand for me.

"Come on," Xav said to me.

I gladly took it, standing up. I placed my head on his shoulder as we walked side by side together, hand in hand. The cool breeze brushed against my skin, making me shiver slightly. Xav's presence beside me brought a sense of warmth and comfort that I hadn't realised I needed until that moment.

"It's beautiful here." I uttered with awe.

"Just like you." He said this, turning around to look at me.

I looked to the ground, hiding the blush and the large smile that happened to creep upon my face. But his words filled me with a sense of happiness that I couldn't contain.

I then felt a hand on my chin, making my heart flutter. I pulled my head back up to face Xaviah.

Those words brought a rosy tinge to my face. "Stop!" I said, embarrassed. Xaviah chuckled, his eyes filled with warmth. "I mean it," he insisted softly, causing my heart to skip a beat. His genuine compliment lingered in the air.

I smiled as I started walking away, but hurried my walking as I saw something glimmering on the horizon. Finally reaching the end of the road. It was the reflection of the sun on this large lake and a deck with a small boat tied to it

I then felt large arms wrap around my body from behind. Nuzzling his face in my neck, he said to me, "You ran away from me?"

"Hey, don't creep up on me like that," I said, startled.

"Kay, I'm sorry. Have you ever been on a boat?" He spun me around to face him.

I grinned. "Never."

"So I guess this is your first time." He grasped gently at my hand, walking down the steps of the deck as I followed closely along. We stepped onto the small boat.

We were down on the boat, which was still tied up on the deck.

This is all ours? I asked , looking around in awe.

"Yep, just you and me," he replied with grinning

"Oh my god, how did you even find this place?" I chuckled, asking him.

"When I was younger, I had this nanny who used to live out here. She used to bring me out here all the time. Her husband died not long ago, and she just decided to sell the place.

"Shame." I said, letting out a sorrowful smile.

A few minutes of silence had just passed.

"Hey, Xav, you have a little water on you." I told him as he wiped his left cheek.

"No, it's a little more to the right." I guided him.

"Here?" he asked.

"No, it's right here." I scooped some water from outside the tiny boat and splashed him with it.

"Im sorry!" I chuckled in between my laughs before he even had the time to react.

"No, you did not!" He said, Shocked.

"Im sorry," I laughed again.

To my surprise, he didn't do anything about it but instead stepped onto the deck. He stuck his hand out for me, and stupidly, I took it. He pulled me into his chest and jumped into the water with me in his arms.

I felt my body get wet from the water splashing over me.

I lift my head out of the water resurfacing, to find him smiling at my vulnerable state. I softly smack his shoulder, and I find myself being pulled into a soft, warm kiss.
