"You cannot do this to me!"
"I'm sorry but I can't ruin another life-"
"You ruined mine!"
"We'll figure something out, okay?"
"No, you can't leave me here-"
"I'm so sorry my .... "Jungkook shook his head, gripping his pen tightly. Ever since he saw that flash of scenes that day, he couldn't take a wink of sleep for the past four days.
Visions continued. Alleys, 13, rooms, liquids, 25, doors, 919, Containers, 0.
After the professor's death, the University gave a 2-day break for the students in his lectures. Enough for him to get rest from the game.
The lecture hall boasted an innovative lighting system that adapted to the time of day and the subject matter under discussion. Soft, inviting illumination filled the room, creating an ideal atmosphere for a better focus. It was a welcome respite for Jungkook and Heaven, who had been drifting into an unintentional slumber. Jungkook spent the past few nights sleepless he kept trying to figure out what he saw. Heaven, on the other hand, continued her night owl routine. Her head resting on Jungkook's shoulder, was in deep sleep, even leaving a small trail of drool.
Jungkook struggled desperately trying to figure out what he saw, it was too vivid to be just a dream. his eyes half-lidded as he pretended to pay attention to their 1st-semester physics lecture.
The lecture hall itself was a marvel of modern design, a spacious and circular chamber with a high, domed ceiling painted a deep, rich shade of navy blue. It appeared to stretch into infinity above, giving the room an almost metaphysical quality. Each seat was equipped with a sophisticated touch-screen console, a tool that allowed students to access course materials, and take notes.
Jungkook's fingers continued to dance across the touchscreen console, scribbling the two ominous words, Area 44, that seemed to blur together as his mind raced with countless questions. Visions weren't clear but there was professor and...someone.
"What in the world was Prof. Mitchell doing?" Jungkook wondered, his brow furrowing. His tiredness was palpable as he closed his eyes for a brief moment.
"Ahm," A throat clearing interrupted his daydreaming.
"Pardon me, Mr. Jeon and Ms. Silva, may I have your kind attention, please? " Professor Li Wei's voice was cold as she stood behind her desk, her gaze firmly fixed on her inattentive students.
Jungkook's eyes flew open, jolting in his seat, and Heaven stirred beside him, groaning softly as she tried to adjust to the sudden brightness in the lecture hall.
"Could you please stand from your seats and repeat what I was saying?" Prof. Li Wei placed both her hands on the wooden desk, staring at her two students.
Jungkook's mind raced as he realized he had entirely lost track of the lecture. "Ah..." He stood from his seat and moved his eyes to the bright holographic screen.
"A quantum theory is an incomplete description of quantum phenomena. It can be used to make predictions of quantum systems on the macroscopic scale," he stammered, glancing at his professor, who raised eyebrows prompting him to continue. "Those are the fundamental equations of quantum autonomy,"
Professor Li Wei moved to the centre of the stage, her presence commanding the attention of the entire lecture hall. "That's correct, Mr. Jeon, but we hadn't quite reached that part of the lecture yet," she replied, her tone measured. She turned her attention to Heaven. "Can you repeat what I was saying?"
Heaven blinked at Jungkook and then at the professor. "Did you eat Chees cake in the morning? there are strawberry stains in your shirt," she blurted out.
