Evelyn's PoV:

I was sat down in the waiting room, just outside the office, the walls covered with dull crimson wallpaper, the occasional plant in the corner lighting up the room as if that would make everything better.

I leaned back on the hard cushioned chair I was sat on, my arms crossed over my chest as I just stared at the closed office door, waiting for doom to take control over me, and then I heard the door unlock, my head turning in the same direction before I saw him.

Aaron.

I felt the anger, the hatred, the everything building up once again, all of it crowding my insides as I watched him reappear next to me. If it weren't for the principle to be in such close vicinity, I would have strangled him by now.

The smug smirk was plastered on his face, the same smirk I last saw before I left the maths class. Oh this bastard sure had a death wish. I watched him walk up to me, standing so close I could just punch him in the face.

"I hope I didn't get you in trouble." I heard him say, the mocking tone showing through his voice as he looked down at me.

What was he doing here in the first place?

"You should be the one sitting here, not me." I replied, the anger evidently being heard through my tone as I locked eyes with him. I took a deep breathe, trying to fight the urge to get payback at him or do anything wrong to him, but god trust me when I say that it was hard as hell to ignore those thoughts.

"Why should I be the one here? You're the one who interrupted the lesson, princess." He mocked, letting out a soft laugh as he looked down on me as if I was some child or something. I already loathed him more then I was before, but to what he said now, he reached my boiling point. Again. I stood up from my chair, my head tilting slightly upwards so our eyes locked on each others as my hatred burnt passionately inside me.

"The only reason I interrupted the lesson, was because you kept bothering me and trying to get my fuc-" I was cut off once more by the principle opening her office door. Her cold eyes locked on me as I straightened my posture and looked away from Aaron, fiddling with my hands as if nothing happened.

"Miss cortress, my office, now." The principle said, her voice cold and empty, echoing through the room and sending a shiver down my spine. Damn, I forgot how scary she actually was. She turned around, entering her office again as I turned to look at Aaron, but he was gone. Disappeared. I gave the room a quick search with my eyes but he was no where to be seen. Coward.

I took a deep breathe, walking into the principals office and closing the door behind me, going over to sit in the chair that was opposite hers.

Her officer was bland and dull, the same haunted crimson colour as the room outside and the same plants plotted around to try and liven the place up a bit. The window was pouring sunlight into the dim room, not that it should be sunny, in my option, I'm the sky should be raining since this was not a cheerful moment whatsoever, but whatever, I wasn't god so I couldn't control it.

"Miss cortress, it has come to my attention that you interrupted mr...Barkley's math lesson. Am I correct? " She asked, her gaze locked on me, as she awaited my answer. "Yes, it is correct, but mrs malloware, this isn't my fault entirely. I swear I didn't mean to interrupt mr barkleys lesson but Aaron-" I tried to explain, all the words just falling out of my mouth as I tried to clarify the situation, but of course, it just wasn't my day.

"No excuses, miss cortress, you have interrupted an important lesson, and on the first day to add to that. Now, as it was your first day, it might have been overwhelming or confusing so I will let you off. But if you do interrupt another lesson, I'm afraid I will have to give you detention. Are we understood?" The woman said, her cold tone softening a bit, but the harshness and strictness still coming through.

"Yes, mrs malloware, I understand." I replied, letting out a relieved sigh and nodding at her. She let me go and I stood up from my seat, exiting the office and making my way out of entire room. I was wandering through the halls now, searching for Gaby and Amelia before I heard the bell ring. Great, lessons were about to start. And next up was history. Yay another favourite.

God kill me now.

I headed over to the history room, entering the lesson and sitting down at a desk near the window. I gave the class a quick look around, and thank god, he wasn't here.

~•-•~

The rest of the day went smoothly. I didn't see Aaron for the rest of the day but I couldn't say that anymore.

I was finally reunited with my friends, the three of us making our ways over to the changing rooms. We were all cheerleaders for the high school, have been since freshman and we've stayed ever since. It might have been the first day of school, but cheer practice was no joke, and as cheer captain, it was important we got everything right.

We headed down to the PE department, went wrong the changing rooms and putting on our uniforms. Our cheer teams uniform consisted of a short navy blue skirt with white trimmings around it, our tops the same navy colour with the words 'cougar' on it, traced over in red, named after our high school, the Clayton cougars.

"God, I can't believe he would do that. I mean, yeah, it's Aaron, but still. On the first day? That's a bit much." I heard Amelia say while I pulled the top over my head, adjusting it as I replied. "Yeah I know thats what I'm saying. Like, he's a jerk and everything but he could have at least waited so it wasn't the first day."

Gaby and Amelia agreed with me, all of us talking about the situation Aaron got me into as the other cheerleaders starting filling the changing rooms. I put on my skirt and grabbed my pom-poms, holding them tightly in my grip as we all started heading to the field, preparing for a practice after a long holiday break.

Aaron was the footbal teams captain, and giving my luck, he was probably going to be training with his team out on the field too. So in my head, I just prayed, wished, and dreamed that he wouldn't be there, making promises to myself and other make-believe people, so obvious that they were all a bribe so I didn't have to see Aaron again. But damn, it worked.

The field was clear, not one footballer in sight. I let out a sigh and smiled, turning to face my team, all of us beginning our cheer practice. It was after school hours, so there wasn't anyone to bother us here, only the occasional passing by of a teacher but that was all. Besides that, it was all pretty peaceful.

And hopefully it stayed this way.
