a few weeks later. Today is the first match that Pablo will start in awhile. The team gave him time off because of the circumstances, and he's finally going back. I know he misses it, he still went to practice but he wasn't in any match. We officially said goodbye to Marco a few days ago. We go visit him almost every day when we can. We're slowly adapting to our life now. Mateo is growing so fast and he's been such an amazing brother to Isabella. She's such a calm baby, and sleeps very well.
It was around lunch time, and we were cleaning up the kitchen. Isabella went down for a nap, and Mateo was pretending to help me clean. Pablo was upstairs getting ready to head out. The match was away, so the team had to travel by bus 3 hours away. Because of this, I would stay home with Mateo and Isabella. It'll also be my first time alone with them, so we'll see how it goes.
"Okay. I'll be heading out now. I'm so sorry I have to go mi amor" Pablo sighs as he walks down the stairs and toward me. "It's okay. I'll be fine. Go give it your all, and do what makes you happy. We'll be cheering for you from over here" I smile. A sense of relief appears on him, and he calms down. "Okay, adios bebe. Te amo" he says kissing Isabella. "Adios Mate. Be good and take care of your mami, okay?" He says to Mateo. Mateo nods and gives him a hug. "Okay papi, te amo" "Te amo también príncipe" he kisses his cheek. "Please call me if anything happens. I'll be on the next bus back. Call my parents, or anyone. I love you, and I'm going to miss you all" Pablo says. "We'll be fine, I promise. Te amo Pablo. Buena suerte" I say leaning in to kiss him. He holds onto the kiss, causing me to smile.
We say our last goodbyes before he heads out the door. "Okay mate. We're going to have a good rest of your day, right?" I sigh before sitting on the sofa. Mateo smirks, and smiles.

I ordered some pizza to avoid having to cook while watching both kids, because I don't feel prepared for that yet. I got both kids settled so we could get ready to watch the match. Mateo was so excited to see both Pedro and Pablo play today. As he's older now, he enjoys watching and recognizes a lot of the players since he's met them. We sit in the living room and I serve us both. Isabella ate a few hours ago, so she should be fine until halftime.

The match begins finally after what felt like forever. I'm more nervous than I've ever been and I'm not sure why.

"Gooooall from Pablo Gavi on his return match! This is arch an amazing goal!" The commentator yells. Mateo and I cheer and clap. We're both so happy and so excited. I wish I could hug Pablo right now. He celebrates, dedicating the goal to Marco. His teammates surround him with hugs, I can see him get emotional. I'm so proud of him. I know how much this means to him. "You don't know this yet Isa but your papi is one of the best midfielders right now" I say as I can't help but smile. Obviously Isa doesn't understand, but she will one day. "Yay! Let's go Papi!" Mateo cheers. I record him so I can show Pablo later. The match resumes and I take the time to feed Isabella.

The match ends 2-1, with Barcelona losing unfortunately. I know they gave it their all, but it wasn't the best match. I watch as the camera shows Pablo. He looks devastated, so tired and upset. They pull him over for an interview so we listen to what he has to say.
Obviously welcome back, you were greatly missed Pablo. How have you been?
Thank you. Well, you know. It hasn't been all that great. Obviously I needed time off to be with my wife and my children through our tough situation.
I can understand that. So do you think this might have something to do with performance today?
Um- I mean, I suppose so. I tried my best to focus and give it my all but unfortunately they were the better team today.
I see. At least you got in that amazing goal. Which was dedicated to someone special I believe.

The camera turns away as Pablo walks off. I knows hurting now and I know he's disappointed. He's always hard on himself. Especially now that the team hasn't been doing great. I send him a text to call me when he gets a chance. In the meantime we turn the tv off and get ready for bed. I take Isabella in my arms, and Mateo shows us the way. I change her diaper and get her into her pjs. I rock her to sleep and sing until she falls asleep. I place her in the crib and walk over to get Mateo ready.
While Pablo is away, Mateo will sleep with me so we're all in the same room together. Once he's asleep I lay in bed and grab my phone. Pablo never responded which is weird. I call his phone, but it goes straight to voicemail. I text him again hoping for an answer.
