during a stage performance in 2020, when stray kids was performing back door, netizens eagle-eyed Nora, calling her out for her lazy dancing and attention seeker. throughout the song nora was dancing in a "lazy" way not putting all the energy she always used to dance and then towards the end of the performance she got off the stage to go backstage.
"i didn't feel so well that day, i was having so many headaches and at the end of the performance i felt like i was about to pass out".
fans soon took the stance to defend her, saying that it is to be appreciated that despite being sick she conducted a stage performance and that she is not one attention seeker, she was simply safeguarding her health. they also reasoned against the criticism of being a "lazy" dancer by showcasing some clips from other performances that prove she puts all of herself into dancing and does it well too.

in april 2022 a new scandal triggers in which nora is allegedly dating a boy. the scandal started after some paparazzi took and released photos that went viral and everyone was talking about. in the photos there is nora with a boy as they wrap their hands and the boy lifts her onto his shoulder. plus, they're both dressed the same.

nora was the first to be recognized while as regards the boy it took a few days before it was discovered who he was since he wore both a hat and glasses and was not well recognizable. the boy turned out to be hyunjin hwang.
in the days to pass many more photos of nora and hyunjin taken by the paparazzi went viral. it was confirmed shortly after by the idols themselves and by the agency that the two were officially dating each other.
