Thoughts on ships

Ship: Goliabrahm (Goliath x Abrahm)

Fandom: IRIS

Thoughts: Whenever I hear the phrase "Shipping these characters is like having a cat and a dog in the same room as each other", this is the first ship that comes to mind. Don't get me wrong, the fanworks I've seen of this pairing are pretty neat and the shippers I've come across and interacted with are really nice (and probably as fixated to IRIS as I am), it's just that I don't see these two work well in a romantic sense.

The reason, you may ask? Well, allow me to explain: on paper, the dynamic between the two could work; both having family-related trauma, both being put into a position without any thought or say into it beforehand, and of course, both of them working together to stop an alien threat from obliterating their galaxy.

Sounds like an interesting dynamic/premise for a ship, right? It does at first, but once you take the canon interactions between the two into consideration, it either makes you ship it more, or it puts a bad taste in your mouth.

Personally, I'm not much of a fan of this ship.

This isn't to say that I discourage those who do ship this one to talk about it, simply cause I want to know more as to why people ship these two together, I just don't understand why it exists.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for an Enemies to Lovers ship, but Goliabrahm is simply not my cup of tea; I feel that if the two were to get along, then they'd be frenemies at most.
