Waking up in a hospital is a bad feeling. I started having anxiety until I felt someone grab my hand. I looked over to see Dom standing next to me with a look of concern. " Aub, I'm right here. You're ok! You're ok."
Hearing her voice definitely calmed me down.

" What happened? All I remember was being at Dell's party and then getting ready to leave. I was walking out to my car and then my phone rang. That's the last thing I remember.

" You were shot in the abdomen and you lost a lot of blood but you'll be ok. Thank God! It's a miracle that no serious damage was done. It will be a tough road ahead but you'll make it through." I stared into Dom's eyes. God, I miss her so much. But she's seeing someone else and has moved on.

" I guess. I won't even be able to see Omari now."

" Look we'll talk to Miss. Sherry and see if we can work something out. Get someone you trust who can bring him to see you. Well once you get out of here. I don't want him to see you in a hospital." I love that she's saying we. I moved some but pain instantly shot through my body.

" Fuck!!"

" Take it easy, Aubrey." She says as the door opened and in walks Delroy, on the phone He had that don't fuck with me look on his face.

" Oh best believe this shit isn't done. It's not done until I say nigga." He hung up and looked at Dom and me.
" You're up... how are you feeling, son?"

" Like I got shot."

" You'll be fine. Just a minor setback my boy. You'll be healed in no time. It will be painful but you'll get through it. It's in your blood!" He turned to Dom.

" Once again, showing up for my boy even though you two aren't together. I was wrong about you! Son you have a good one here, fix everything with your lady. As you can see life is too short, don't take each other for granted. I made that mistake and...." He looked away and sat down. His phone rang, taking his attention away from us.

" Thank you," I said to Dom. I felt her squeeze my hand a little tighter. " I'm here."

" When can I leave?" I yelled out, and once again that pain shot throughout my body.

" Aub, be careful!"

I spent 3 weeks in the hospital, I was so glad I was finally able to leave. I just wanted to be home. Dom suggested that I stay with her since she's on the bottom floor and there are no steps. Delroy was hesitant at first but didn't give us any problems. Mike had gone to my house to get some of my things to bring here. Dom was taking some personal time off to take care of me. Now that's real. My visitation with Omari is set for tomorrow which I'm so happy about. I can't wait to see my boy. We're going to pick him up from school and then take him back to Amira's. I got to FaceTime him a few times while I was in the hospital. He looked like he had grown in that little time away. We're determined to get him back. My lawyer is working hard. We're definitely getting a different judge. Tate has been helping a lot. Which I'm grateful for.
