It was Sunday, 11AM.

We have been waiting at the airport for 15 minutes after we arrived with a taxi. My best friend Kory immediately went to the bathroom as soon as we set a foot inside, not surprising of her silly self since she decided to say goodbye to all the furniture in the house rather than taking care of herself before we left the apartment. « you should see me in a crown » by Billie Eilish was blasting in my earphones while I was wasting time waiting for Kory, my head naturally nodding to the sound.

"Rachel !" The slender sound of her high pitched annoying but cute (don't tell her I said that) voice managed to make its way to my ears as I slowly looked up, to see her waving just in front of me.

"How loud did you scream for me to hear you even through my earphones ?" I asked her taking them off. It just took me a look around to guess she must have shouted really loud since most heads were turned to us. I sighed standing up as she awkwardly chuckled stroking the back of her head. This girl really had no shame and she would prove it every single day.. cutting her fake laugh, she cleared her throat.

"The flight is in one hour, we should go !" She smiled as I nodded. But she stopped soon enough. "Wait ! Let me check if I have my passport..." she muttered as I rolled my eyes.

"Star, you have it, it's probably the 243rd time you checked." I reminded her sighing, yup just in the span of 30 minutes she managed to check everytime if she forgot anything, like her passport would grow legs and walk away from her.

"You never know !" She poorly defended herself.

"I know."

"Good, it's still here !" She smiled again at the sight of it, just once more confirming my thoughts.

During the flight, Star forced me to watch animation movies with her, saying that it would be a waste to not be watching it since she bought a lot of goodies and those colored drinks that all had that girly vibe to it. I rolled my eyes, sighed and complained the whole time cringing at some scenes but we had a 5 hours long flight, and I had to admit it wasn't that bad. It was never with her, I had a good flight to be honest.

"Won't you admit that Danny Phantom is good looking ?" She jumped in front of me exposing her phone screen as I sighed shaking my head.

"We already had this discussion Star, I don't simp on cartoon boys." I shook my head as I started walking towards the building we would be living in for now. "I prefer anime boys." I then scoffed as she jokingly rolled her eyes.

"You know, I think simping on fictional characters is the reason why we never had boyfriends." She chuckled walking alongside me while we were drawing our suitcases. She wasn't wrong, we've been single for 19 years now, but was it surprising knowing all the boys we ever knew ? I remember when we were kids Kory would go out with any boys that asked her because she didn't like to say no, and they would always take advantage of that. We became friends the moment I had to defend her because an high schooler approached her 12 years old self asking her out and she was so scared she didn't know what to say, that's when I stepped in and threatened to call the police. She cried a lot after that and we never separated again. I learned that the boys were calling her all sort of names and deep down it hurts her. Now I know I'm always going to be here for her and I'll double check a boy before I validate him as her boyfriend. Girls are okay, we were never the problem in my opinion but it might be controversial.

"It's not us, lesbians were always right." I shrugged as we got into the elevator. She giggled at my answer and as always I let her hit the button because she just loved to do it.

"I still think we should have rent the same room..." she pouted. "I don't want to sleep alone !"

"It's too late for that now Star, plus we both know how unbearable it would be for me to live with you..."
