2006 Yukari: four
"Yu where are we going?" A young girl with light brown hair questioned as her brother helped her tie her shoe laces "We're going to my school, I'm not busy so you can come and meet my friends other than kento, shoko and geto!" Yu grinned as he held onto his sisters hand "you have more friends than that?" Yukari questioned as he nodded
"And we're going to the school you go because you can see those monsters?" She asked, her sentences taking longer due to her age "Yup!" The older haibara said, his face suddenly becoming melancholic "Remember Yukari, don't, I repeat don't ever become a sorcerer"
"Huh? Then why are you one?" She questioned "That's different, just promise me you won't" Haibara sajd putting out his pinky finger "Fine.." Yukari huffed as she intertwined her finger with his "Good" Yu said, going back to his usual cheerful tone
"Are you sure I won't get in trouble?" Yukari asked "Yeah, I told mum where we're going, she didn't really care though.." Yu said, his voice trailing off at the last bit as the siblings mother was slowly spiralling from not only a functioning alcoholic to now a non functioning alcoholic after Yu father's abandonment
During that time, Yu's mother had gone into a deep depression, often bringing different men home each night which eventually led to the conception of Yukari both children had been given their mothers last name and due to the huge age gap and their mothers state of mind, Yu would have to take care of his sister alone for most of her infancy, up until he went to jujutsu tech where he could ask for help from geto or kento and occasionally shoko when she wasn't too busy
"Yeah you're right, she's probably too drunk to understand what is going on anyways" Yukari scoffed as Haibara looked at her. "Yukari how do you know what that is?" He asked
"I'm four not an idot, I know what goes on" Yukari stated.
"You're a smart kid" Haibara said softly as the two made their way up a tall flight of steps

"Haibara who's the kid?" A tall guy with white hair said lifting up his sunglasses at he peered at the girl who was hiding behind her older brothers leg, being creeped out by the man's beady eyes
