Ichigo POV:

After I saw Senna safely in, I flashed back to my house. Rukia was there rummaging around in the closet.

"Hey," I greeted.

"Welcome back. You were out late tonight," she stated with a hint of accusation.

"Yea well, it was an interesting evening." I huffed, slouching on the bed.

"Hm? I didn't think that hollow's signal was that strong," she turned.

"No, not that. Have you met a girl named Senna at school? She said she just transferred."

Something flashed through Rukia's features. "Yea, I know her. Pretty sure she's a watch assignment or something."

"Watch assignment?" I asked.

"The Soul Society sends out assignments like that for anomalies in the world of the living. When people like her show up but don't seem to be a threat, they usually assign new soul reapers to scout it out."

"Wait... Anomaly? You know about her abilities then?"

"Well yea, it's pretty clear from her spirit energy don't you think?"

"I guess so..." I mean yea, she had decent spiritual pressure, but it still didn't explain how familiar it felt. "But wait... Why is she different than anyone else? There're tons of people out there who can see hollows and stuff."

"From what I heard, she showed up out of nowhere about 3 months ago. They found her hanging out in the cemetery insisting that one of the graves belonged to her parents... But none do. Turns out she has no memory, no history, or parents to speak of. The city obviously helped her get set up with a foster family, and they put her in school soon after."

"What the... I had no idea. She seems so happy..."

"You met her?"

"Tonight yea. We had a run in with a spirit and that hollow on the way back from school... She can interact with them Rukia. She could even see me in soul reaper form." I know she tried to hide it, but shock clearly crossed her features.

"Hmm, from what I know they usually they aren't so adept. Maybe this isn't something we should leave to the newbies then," she shook her head.

"I offered to introduce her to everyone tomorrow. Surely we'll be enough to convince the Soul Society to lay off."

"Yea, you're right." I wish she sounded more sure.

The next task was to actually find her. I surveyed the halls between every class, but I never caught sight of that bright red ribbon until lunchtime. She sat at a booth in the farthest corner of the cafeteria. I knew that booth; where new students always sat to be out of the way and draw the least amount of attention possible.

"Hey Senna, there's a free spot at our table if you'd like."

Her head whipped around, face immediately brightening. "Hey Ichigo!" She started gathering her tray and backpack eagerly. I wondered if she'd been imagining something like this playing out in the first place.

"How're you?" She asked with a smile.

"Oh, I'm alright I guess," I smiled back as we approached the table. "Everyone, this is Senna," I introduced. I picked up a flash of confusion on some faces, but I'm sure Senna missed it.

"Hey guys," she waved. "Do you mind if I sit here today?"

"Not at all," Orihime, the social butterfly, agreed. Luckily, the seats nearest to her were free. She'd keep Senna talking at least.
