The only sound heard is the grass underneath your feet being squashed, not the best vocabulary but that is how you felt. Squashed.
You were walking between Padmé and her man friend who you overheard being called Anakin. You subtly continued to watch Padmé open her lips as if she was about to say something but quickly shut them. Multiple times."You seem like you want to say something Padmé," you sighed, not knowing how you were supposed to answer anything personal. However, Anakin next to you and the other Jedi didn't seem to know what personal meant as they kept throwing metaphorical spears at your mind, both of them trying to take down the barriers you created at the same time. Both of them were staring daggers at you, especially the other Jedi. I thinks she wants me to say 'sorry' still.
"Where have you been all these years (n/n)? I didn't see you after your parents... accident," your breath was caught in your throat when Padmé mentioned your parents.
Coughing slightly to clear your throat, you said, "Yeah well, I couldn't bare to be on a planet where the memory of my parents once lived. I've just been living with my uncle and doing some favours for him. And not to mention my house was destroyed so I had no where to go."
"Destroyed? (Y/n), your house is still very much in one piece. I've kept the house under your name and had a few keepers do maintenance and routinely checks on the place in hopes that one day you'd come home."
"What?" You stopped moving. Your eyes on Padmé while you looked at her in disbelief.
My house wasn't burned down?
Automatically, you dropped the bag, the glass bottles clinking from the movement. Your feet took you in the direction of your home, muscle memory kicking in. You could hear Padmé trying to follow you as well as shouts from Anakin to come back.
A familiar shape came into view as you saw your house standing proudly and strong, the nature around it hugging its walls. Beautiful flowers grew around the house, making it look like a cozy cottage.
You dragged your fingers across the hip-high stone brick wall that guarded your land, bits of moss detaching itself from the stone. Padmé had caught up to you and you could hear her struggled breaths of exhaustion, "You sure can run (y/n)," she spoke, in between breathes. Your lips smiled in response, not a fake or forced smile, a genuine smile. Something you haven't done in a long time.
Your steps were slow as you followed the path that led up to the cottage. Gently, your hand caressed the golden door nob before twisting it open. Pictures, furniture, everything was exactly how you remembered it to be. You've always dreamt about seeing golden picture frames but never actually seeing the pictures themselves. You always thought that the majority of these pictures would be family photos of your mother, your father, and me, but that was not the case. The pictures were only of your mum and dad. Not that you had a problem with it but you weren't in any photographs. Nothing in this house acknowledged your very existence.
Strange.
You decided to ignore the tinge of heartbreak with in you and instead, deciding to say, "Thank you Padmé. Thank you so much," warm tears were beginning to swell in my your but you were quick to dismiss them, "I can see that you kept your keepers busy as there isn't a single bit of dust on anything," you humoured, a single tear managing to escape your eye.
You climbed the stair case to find your room, only to be surprised by finding it empty.
"Did you empty my room," you asked Padmé, anger raising in your voice.
