Sunghoon picked him up as promised, and Jake began to pry and pry. It was unlike him, the idol surmised, to be so darn nosy when all he'd been was stubborn and submissive. First, he nagged Sunghoon about the sudden schedule. Then, he nagged about being seen with the idol. And it starts all over again from point one.

"I think we should set a schedule for these dates. I can't have you pick me up from school all the time. What if I had some important schedule?" Jake was panicking—he was going on a stunt date with his fake boyfriend. He always thought he was brave, and he had been since the beginning but something about this messed up relationship struck a nerve.

His chest tightened, his brain fussed and his muscles contracted downwards. He could only call him stupid for feeling this way. The idol didn't seem to acknowledge his misery, which he made no attempts to hide.

God. This is so ridiculous. Jake wanted to bury his face in his palms.

"I'll talk to Jihyo-noona about it so will you stop yapping already?" The sudden rise of volume in the idol's tone startled Jake. He had successfully annoyed Sunghoon. "I don't want to do this either but you don't see me complaining."

Oh, Jake was pissed. He didn't like being yelled at, even if it was the man who's got his heart and head twisting in every sort of way. He did not like being forced into submission. God forbid. "I'm just saying we should compromise. How is that me yapping? God, you're so annoying." He grunted.

Sunghoon threw him an offensive glare. Then he wildly steered the vehicle to the side of the road, catching Jake off-guard with the forceful administration.

The idol looked at him, irritation dripping from every corner of his face. And Jake realised, Sunghoon was the sort of guy who imposed authority wherever he went on whoever he went with. It probably infuriated the idol when Jake was prying, stubborn and argumentative. Park Sunghoon really was a piece of work.

"We're both in this against our will. It's already hard enough pretending but you're making things more difficult with your grumpy spoiled ass. Have you ever considered that I have a life? All I ask is a way to compromise our schedule so that it doesn't affect our lives. I don't want you popping out randomly and demanding to accompany you in your stunts. Why would you get mad at that?"

Jake might have yelled at his face. He also might have regretted it the next second after he was done talking but boy, did he love letting out all the pent up frustrations. Then Sunghoon snickered, the audacity! And it only set him off even more. "What's so funny?!" He crossed his arms on his chest and huffed, turning away to glare at the road ahead.

"Your bravery amuses me. Maybe next time you ask for a favour, watch your tone," he hissed and started the car.

Jake was baffled. "Watch my tone? Watch my tone?! Nothing is wrong with my tone. It's you who should be watching your tone!" He bit back, but inside he couldn't help but question himself why he was arguing with this… narcissist, misogynist(?), and insufferable jerk.

Not even two minutes after Sunghoon started to drive again and he was already pulling along the roadside again. "My tone's always been like this so if you have a problem, talk to a wall!" He retorted.

"You're so childish, I swear to God," Jake flared at his face, they were only a tease away from smashing each other head on but anger and the need to assert dominance over the other had completely overpowered their other rationality. "A complete immature asshole. I can't believe I even fell for the likes of y-" Then Jake stopped. He fell numb, silent and puzzled. Realising he had been the immature one all along, and that he had failed to control his mouth; his face distorted into horror and he yanked himself back, away from the proximity they both hadn't realised they had gotten into.

Sunghoon answered with a light scoff, lips crooked into a smirk and tantalising eyes jeering at Jake's stupidity. He unstrapped his seatbelt and narrowed Jake until the latter was squished in the corner and their faces were only a breath away. "I get it now. You're being a bitch because you like me but you don't want me to find out so you're looking for excuses to avoid confronting your feelings. Which led to this argument, wherein you pour out all your frustrations or should I say, excuses to tell yourself you shouldn't have feelings for me. A pathetic move, really, Sim."

Jake wants to cry. He wants to bawl, scream at the top of his lungs and cry a river. As if being exposed for your ridiculousness wasn't enough, he got called 'pathetic'.

Sunghoon's amusement died and out surfaced a questioning look as tears swelled the rims of Jake's eyes. "You're a crybaby, huh?" He impassively, nonchalantly and blankly returned to his seat, strapping his seatbelt as he started the engine again.

"Yes. I like you," said Jake, moments after their very embarrassingly childish argument. "Actually, I've always liked you."

"Hmm."

Jake wants to punch Park Sunghoon, the heartless, stone-faced, handsome man he is indirectly (or not) confessing to as of the moment. "Hmm?" He mimicked Sunghoon's response, scowling as he does. "So you're going to pretend that you did not just forced a confession out of me?"

"You were insufferable. You should be glad I even bothered to respond," said Sunghoon, high and mighty on his icy throne.

Jake simply laughed dryly. "Yeah, yeah. I'm honoured, Your Royal Highness," he bit back, sardonically and looked away choosing to indulge in the sight of the Han river instead with a bitter frown.

What he didn't notice, however, was how Sunghoon grinned at his sass—an oddly genuine grin as his cheeks swelled and he did not look irritated at all. But Jake was too busy sulking to witness the rare sight.
