David's POV:

(GUYS I PROMISE THERE ISNT GONNA BE ANY ICKY STUFF 😭 THEY ARE TEENAGERS, SORRY IF IT SOUNDS A-LITTLE FUNKY)

In the refuge of Exer's home, I found solace—a sanctuary from the twisted manipulations of my own father. Unlike the uncertainty and unease that plagued my life at home, being with Exer was like finding an anchor in a tempestuous sea. It was a feeling of safety and freedom that fueled the love I held for him.

Exer and I had become inseparable. We spent our days together, shared our secrets, and leaned on each other for support. Our connection had deepened into something profound, and it was clear to both of us that what we had was more than just friendship.

"Day, I left a towel in the bathroom for you; go wash up, and I'll get you some PJs," Exer's caring voice interrupted my racing thoughts.

"Thank you," I began to reply, but my words trailed off abruptly as Exer walked into the room, clad only in a towel wrapped around his waist. My face turned a shade of crimson I hadn't known was possible. I had seen him like this before, but this time it felt different, more intimate. He was my boyfriend, or at least I hoped that's how he saw me.

Exer chuckled at my flustered reaction. "Wow, Day, I know I'm hot, but not that hot," he teased, his eyes locked onto my blushing face.

"I'll be back; let me have a shower," I stammered, my words tumbling out at warp speed as I sought escape from the awkwardness.

Retreating from Exer's room, I entered the bathroom and met my flushed reflection in the mirror. I was a mess, a tangled mess of emotions for Exer Campbell. Swiftly, I undressed and stepped into the shower, carefully adjusting the water temperature to a comfortable level. The soothing cascade of water washed over me, easing my nerves. My hair, damp and matted from the rain, begged for attention. I reached for the purple shampoo I had used on previous visits to Exer's house, determined to look my best for him.

Emerging from the shower, I wrapped myself in a towel, leaving my hair in a damp disarray. I re-entered Exer's room, and there it was again—a mirror image of my own reddened, astonished face mirrored on Exer's.

I couldn't comprehend it. I didn't possess the muscular build or the self-assured confidence that Exer had, yet my presence had the same effect on him. "Wow, who's speaking now, Mr. 'I know I'm hot'?" I retorted playfully, earning a genuine laugh from Exer.

"Jesus, Day, you're killing me. Let me get you some spare PJs," Exer chuckled, attempting to divert his gaze from me as he selected clothes from his dresser.

Returning to the bathroom with the fresh clothes in hand, I couldn't shake the feeling of surprise. Had I really made Exer react like that? I hurriedly changed into the clothes, my mind racing with questions.

As I re-entered the room, Exer's smile greeted me. It was that smile, radiant as ever, capable of illuminating the darkest of nights. "Hey, Day," he greeted, looking at me as I stood in the doorway.

"Exer, did I really make you blush like that? I can't believe it, and I'm confused because I'm not even half as attractive as you, and I don't know—" I began, but he cut me off.

"Day, I wish you knew how much I love you. You're funny, kind, attractive, and just an all-around amazing person. If I didn't like you, why would I run in the rain to kiss you?" Exer reassured me, moving closer and offering his hand.

"Exer, does this mean we are... you know, together?" I asked, still uncertain.

"Yes, Day. I love you," he affirmed, closing the door and pulling me to his bed, cupping my cheek to kiss me. I eagerly reciprocated, and our connection deepened, our breaths heavy with the intensity of the moment.

Lost in each other, we failed to hear the doorknob turning. Suddenly, the creaky door swung open, and Exer and I jumped apart, faces burning red.

"DAD, PLEASE KNOCK!" Exer shouted, directing an exasperated look at his father.

"Sorry to interrupt you boys. I was just letting you know I'm heading to bed. So, no... how do I say this," Exer's dad began, standing in the doorway.

No way his dad thought we would do... that

"DAD, NO, GROSS!" Exer exclaimed, his face even redder.

"Just joking with you. But please, go to bed at a reasonable time; you've both had a big day," Exer's dad said, attempting to salvage the situation.

"Goodnight, Dad," Exer said, his voice laced with embarrassment.

"Good night, Mr. Campbell," I added, trying to be polite. Exer's dad closed the door, leaving us red-faced and flustered.

"Damn, well at least he didn't find out like that," Exer laughed.

"Yeah," I replied, giggling along with him.

We both decided to try and get some rest, so we turn the main light off, turning Exer's bedside table one on and lay in bed facing each other, I knew that we weren't going to sleep straight away, and that we would probably stay up talking about all the thinks we wanted to say to each other, that where chocked back by self hate and confusion.

"Exer, you wanna know what I find extremely funny, you never once noticed my blushes toward you." I said looking at him with a warm smile.

"I mean I noticed, but I always just thought you were to warm." Exer stupidly says, everything finally making sense.

Their laughter filled the room, a welcomed release from the tension of the moment. The close call with Exer's father left them feeling a mix of embarrassment and relief. Exer and I shifted on the bed, trying to regain our composure.

As we settled back into a comfortable position, Exer's fingers intertwined with mine. "You know, Day, I can't believe how lucky I am," he said, his tone turning serious.

I turned to him, my eyes locked onto his. "What do you mean?" I asked, genuinely curious.

He smiled, his thumb gently caressing the back of my hand. "I mean, I have you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me."

A warmth spread through my chest at his words. "Exer, I feel the same way about you. You've changed my life in ways I can't even put into words."

We shared a tender moment, our fingers entwined, our eyes locked in a silent exchange of love and gratitude. It was moments like these that made everything else disappear—the worries, the doubts, and the fears. In each other's presence, we found solace and a sense of belonging.

Time seemed to slip away as we lay there, lost in each other's gaze. The rain continued its gentle melody on the windowpane, a soothing backdrop to our shared moment of intimacy.

Our lips met in a gentle kiss, sealing our promise with a shared vow of love and devotion. In that moment, our connection deepened, and we both knew that nothing could break the bond we had forged.

As the night continued to unfold, we talked about our hopes and dreams, our fears and insecurities. It was a raw and vulnerable conversation, one that solidified our connection even further. With every word shared, we became more intertwined, two souls navigating the complexities of life together.

Eventually, exhaustion overtook us, and we snuggled under the covers, wrapped in each other's arms. The rain outside had eased, leaving behind a tranquil night.
