21. pins - TLOU

Summary: staying in the same place for a while. But also their body parts falling asleep and then having to walk back home because of the pins and needles.

Joel and Ellie had been in Jackson for almost a month when they had to figure out what to do for Jackson itself. Help with the animals, patrol. You name it. In the end they had both wanted to do patrol and even though Ellie hadn't been old enough for Jackson standards she still could go on patrol when Jackson had been attacked and she had fought alongside the people of Jackson. But most of all had protected loads of kids from getting bit.

So when they had finally had the green light that they could go on patrol they had been preparing for all the stuff that could happen but most of all they had gone to the weapon hall to seek some weapons out they could use for themselves. Here Ellie had found a new gun and some new knives she could use with her pocket knife. Joel had found some more weapons that almost nobody would use.

After they had found their stuff they had gone to the horses to see which horse they would get assigned to them. This had been a hassle because they both knew they couldn't get on the same horse because if something happened then they would have been a bad target. So Joel had gotten an older horse that hadn't really liked other people. But the moment Joel and Ellie walked in, the older horse had been relaxed. Something he had never done if you asked the person that worked with the horses.

For Ellie she had gotten a younger horse. This horse had loads of energy but the horse had also taken a liking to Ellie and Joel. The horse had also just stopped growing. So she had to be careful around him. But at the same time Ellie still didn't weigh a lot. Something that had to do with the fact that she wasn't really eating that well yet. She had been trying but at the moment she was only really okay with eating green stuff. Something she knew for sure that wasn't bad food.

When they finally went out it had been a while since they had gone outside and they had both decided to just take watch outside of the gates and also walk around to see the terrain around Jackson and get a bit more used to it.

They had been walking for a while now and Ellie was slowly losing the feeling in her butt. She knew that it would take a while before they would get back to Jackson but she also knew that she should look around but it was early in the morning so she was somewhat tired. She wanted to just lean on Joel like when they had left Jackson after the first time there but she shouldn't take her chances.

However before she could say anything about not feeling her butt anymore Joel stopped for a moment and was looking around for a moment before stepping off his horse. "We are going to scout it out here. Are you up for that?" He looked back at her for a moment and she liked that he would always ask her if she was okay with some stuff. Mostly because she knew that he wanted to know more about her but also so that she knew that he trusted her a lot.

They had been sitting on top of the mountain for a while now and Ellie was beginning to feel some pins and needles in her legs and she knew that if she wouldn't move now that she would fall if she would stand up when they really needed it. So she grabbed Joel's wrist and when he looked at her she told him that she needed to walk around for a bit. She let him see the gun she would take with and he nodded.

She knew he would follow her with his eyes while also being aware of his surroundings. She had just stood up when her legs decided to tingle in a way that indicated that her legs were waking up and she walked somewhat weird for a moment. But when the pins and needles faded away she began to stretch while also looking around to be sure that nothing would happen to her.

When she was done she went back to Joel and they would sit there for a while longer before going back to Jackson. Here she would lose the feeling in her butt yet again but she liked to be around Joel and patrolling and getting to know more about the area around Jackson. She would also learn more and get more used to being on a horse. It did take some losing feeling in her butt. Yes but she would always love to patrol with Joel.

Even when the truth would come out she would always patrol with Joel because she knew that they would be the best team. She would be angry at him but not that angry to lose complete trust in him.
