2. Not all words contained herein are "archaic"; some are simply dated, formal, or uncommon.

3.  British English is used for this story. Therefore, the spelling of some words will differ (e.g. Armor = Armour; Center = Centre; Practice = practise, if a verb; shriveled = shrivelled)
