"Detective Holloway...."
For a long time, the police knew only one subject. Jigsaw, as the tabloids called the unknown serial killer. No other subject occupied the various departments of the city more than the murders and traps that had killed so many people.
There were various constructions, considerable inventions that provided perfidious "games", as the voice said on a recording device that could be found with the victims. The point was to test the will of the selected people. The will to survive.
So far, however, there have been more dead than survivors. Far more dead. And those who survived their trap were traumatized, and if that wasn't enough, not a single one escaped unscathed. Every single one that made it had some form of injury. Be it cuts, burns, missing organs or teeth, a lost body part or body parts. This person was creative.
The main difference from many other serial killers was that the "test subjects" were "responsible" for their own deaths. It was not murder in the classical sense. In none of the cases, Jigsaw did not kill the subjects himself, giving each one the opportunity to escape. Still, they were games that included kidnapping, assault, and false imprisonment, among other things, and most of them ended with "resulting in death". Enough came together to apprehend the unknown.
Yes, it was possible to 'win' the Jigsaw games, but to win, sacrifices had to be made, and they had to be made in a certain amount of time. The reason many had failed and died.
"Detective," Leon was interrupted by a street cop filling out a complaint, "a couple of kids were picked up near the old freight yard because they seemed a little upset. When questioned, they were all upset and talking about dead bodies. A couple of colleagues checked it out and it looks like a Jigsaw trap."
