Marriage has always been viewed as a business contract. My father and mother are part of the many who believe that marriage should not be for anything more than gaining station in life. It always has been, and always will be, a business contract.
Anyone else should be considered lucky, then.
Should be happy that the man they love is the man they get to marry. That there was no need for a dowry, or a contract, or societal gain. That they fell in love with him, and he with them, and through tragedy and snares, they married for love and nothing more.
