Eunbyeol smiled as she saw a notification pop up on her phone.
"Whose message is making you smile like that? Hanbinnie?" Chaeyeon asked from behind the bar, while Eunbyeol and Yuna were sitting across from her in the bar stools.
"No, it's Wookie." She turned her phone to show the girls photos her brother sent to the family group chat.
"Woahhh the view is crazy. Where is this?" Yuna stared at the bright blue sky and the crystal clear ocean in the photo.
"Fiji."
"Didn't you say they were in Australia last time?" Chaeyeon probed.
"They were. Then they flew to Fiji, and I think they'll be going to New Zealand as well."
"Can you ask Gunwookie to bring Arin back?" Chaeyeon pretended to sob.
"It was Arin who asked to go on a trip, not Gunwook. You're making it sound like Gunwook kidnapped her."
"ZeroBase is going to close down soon if Arin doesn't come back soon. Revenue has been decreasing ever since she took leave. We barely kept our regular customers last time when she took a break for two weeks, and you're telling me it's two months this time!"
"You really should raise Arin's salary if she's that important to ZeroBase." Yuna urged.
"I'm willing to do anything to bring Arin back."
"Don't you even dare disrupt their holiday." Eunbyeol warned.
"So what are they now? Have they become official yet?" Yuna nudged Eunbyeol with her elbow.
"Last time I checked, it was still just 'friends, and maybe a bit more than that'."
"Is this what the young people nowadays call 'situationship'?" Chaeyeon wondered. "But it's already been more than half a year, still no progress?"
"I don't think they were even considered friends to begin with, so I wouldn't say there has been no progress. Just let them take things slowly. Knowing Arin, I don't think she's someone who would travel with just anyone. Who knows? Maybe the trip will be a huge turning point for their relationship."
.
"This is stunning." Arin exclaimed while looking at the sun falling below the horizon.
"I find you more stunning." Gunwook gazed at the girl next to her.
It was probably the millionth time that Gunwook flirted with her, but she would still get shy and embarrassed, and Gunwook would still find her reaction cute.
After Gunwook confessed, the two agreed to let things flow naturally. Arin went back to work and Gunwook still visited ZeroBase frequently. He became much more straightforward and open about his fondness towards Arin though. As a result of his consistent effort, smiles and expressions appeared on Arin's face more and more frequently. She no longer needed to put on a poker face to hide her feelings, because she knew there was someone who was willing to embrace all her emotions with her.
"I have a question," Arin spoke. "When you realised I had feelings for Gyuvin oppa, why didn't you just turn away? You knew it wouldn't be easy from the start."
"Did you turn away when you knew Gyuvin hyung was in a long-term relationship with Yuna noona? I couldn't even if I wanted to."
"We're both fools for love, aren't we?"
"I don't agree. I'm literally sitting with you at a beach here in Fiji right now, looking at a beautiful sunset together. Not turning away was probably the best choice I've ever made."
