Chapter 20: Back from the Dead

"What?" Issei asked as (Y/n) walked towards resting his hand on his shoulder.

"The white one is active."

"The white one?" Issei spoke as he watched Rias lowered her head with a grim stare. His arm flared in pain as his blood red gauntlet shone out beginning to speak.

"Issei, this white one of which Young (Y/n) speaks of is my brother, Albion. And your rival."

Issei looked towards the green orb in shock as the pain that had been previously burning began to subside. The gauntlet began to disappear in a flurry of sparks while the pervert sighed in annoyance. "So what do we do now then Rias?" Akeno cocked her head to the side to view her King who stood silent. "It's definitely a change of game if the white one has awoken, but it's when the game shall begin is the main issue. Especially with the situation here in Kyoto." Rias glanced towards her rook that was smiling calmly as the two small cat like girls grasping each of his hands with teary eyes while his familiar stood behind him slapping the blonde girl.

"I must ask, (Y/n) how were you made aware of this news?" She spoke as she walked towards the boy. "Oh, I had a chat with this big dragon that apparently lives in the sword. Calls himself Gandora or whatever."

"GANDORA!? IS THAT A JOKE!?" Rias screamed stepping back as the temple guards quickly appeared with their spears ready for combat as they pulled the young fox girls away from the boy. "Yeah what's up with that, he's a bit arrogant but everyone is to some extent right?" (Y/n) raised his hands in confusion as the guards pointed their weapons small distances from his throat. "I request you drop them before he gets annoyed."

"What are you talking about kid?" The first guard spoke jabbing towards him. (Y/n) left eye went completely black as he grabbed the spears tip with his left hand shattering the built in blade into thousand of twinkling shards. "I recommend you listen to the boy." (Y/n) growled out as he let out a deathly aura causing the guards to choke. "Alright moody, that's enough!" (Y/n) spoke out as the aura ended sharpened as his eye began returning to normal.

"So you weren't joking?" Akeno smiled with a blush, biting her lip in ecstasy. "No?" (Y/n) chuckled as Koneko ran back towards him with a nervousness smile pulling the fox girl behind her. "It just means he's gotten stronger is all." She smiled as she turned to face the others. "Come on guys, can't you see (Y/n) is fine." Koneko grinned as she gripped his hand with her empty right hand. "Thanks kitty." He grinned as she gasped with a small blush lowering her head.

"Well then, what does this all mean, (Y/n)?"

"It means Issei, I have more allies on our side."

The peerage crowded around a small table that was covered with hundreds of small houses that helped create an exact replica of Kyoto. At the tables head stood a large castle that represented the temple the group stood in, "Alright everyone, listen in. After looking into disturbances that have been popping up across the residential areas around the base of the temple. It's clear the enemy are making advances and gaining territory around the home base. This means that we could be attacked at any point now and unfortunately for us. Both myself and Akeno have been summoned alongside Tsubaki and Sona to help in matters with Lord Lucifer. This means while we are gone I will leave the command to a joint effort of Kiba and (Y/n). Asia will stay in the main temple at all times now as a shelter in the events of an attack, (Y/n) your job is too stay by the side of Kunou while Issei, Koneko and Kiba watch over the walls and perimeters. Understand?" Rias spoke pressing her palms against the table.

"Right." Issei held his hand up with a determined smile watching his crush walk off into a blood red portal. "And then we're alone." (Y/n) sighed as he stared across the board. He looked down feeling Koneko grasping his blazer sleeve as the room stood silent. "Well then, let's get to work people." Kiba slammed his hand against the board causing the group to start moving and pushing as they got to their groups leaving the room.

(Y/n) walked towards Kunou with a grin with Koneko by his side. He threw a small bag towards her causing the girl to look down at the tightly wrapped cloth bag that rattled with a metallic sound. "A payment for the used medical supplies, sorry for the bother." (Y/n) smiled warmly as the girl looked down with a blush catching the gaze of the small cat girl as she dipped. "There's no need to thank me for medical care when you saved my life from that creepy person... you did most the healing yourself anyway..." Kunou whispered the last part which went unheard by the boy but not the girl besides him.

"Well doesn't kill to be polite right?" He began to walk away as the young fox watched with intent. "He's a pretty great guy right?" Koneko smiled happily as her single white tail swayed gently. "He is quite incredible..." Kunou spoke never breaking her gaze. Koneko sighed as she thought over their last few days. She hadn't been able to have anytime with him since before the trip despite being so close at so many points. 'Truth be told I'm a little jealous of her...' Koneko thought glancing at Kunou in slight envy.

"Take care of him while your outside the temple walls won't you."

"Pardon?" Kunou spoke softly as she was met with a sad gaze of a pair of golden eyes that threatened to spill over. Kunou looked over to the boy that had hours before been on the verge of death just hours beforehand who was now casually talking among his classmates. "You say he's a middle class devil yes?" Kunou glanced at her as the two exchanged emotions in mere glances. One of the many skills of women. Guys have the ability to sense each others mess ups to match this.

"So your wishes towards him are?"

"Yes Miss Koneko, you could say something like that..." Kunou blushed lightly as the cat girl sighed. "Well I guess request of his well being are in  both our best interests then."

"His life will be treasured." Kunou bowed hearing the boy shouting for her as he left the room with the other guys. She quickly walked out the main temple room after him with a small blush, her large gold tails swaying behind her. "Does he have a skill for attracting animals or something?" Koneko sighed in annoyance before she began leaving for her own assignment.

A/n: Apologies for both a late chapter and a short one too. I've had a stressful October with a large amount of testing and examination. My mother has also been sick lately meaning attention has been drawn from my story however I promise the next chapter will pick up the slack and my mother is feeling better now.
