Y/n POV
The next morning Ran left out the window. When I woke up the bed was cold indicating he left some time ago. It hurt knowing that last night was our last night together, But I knew how important Rindou was to Ran and I would hate myself if I was the reason the brothers ruined their relationship.
After getting ready for school I went downstairs and mom was making breakfast.
"Morning sweetheart" she smiled
"Hi mom"
Her smile faded when she saw that I wasn't giving her my usual smile.
"Y/n, what's happened?" she asked
"Ran and I broke up last night...I don't wanna talk about it but it was mutual nobody's at fault" I say.
She nodded and gave me a hug while telling me that everything will be okay. My mom knew how important Ran was to me, given that our relationship went on for nearly 4 years she was a dimmer that one day he and I would have a future together and possibly get married. Ran also showed a lot of respect to my mom and dad, but mainly my mom. I guess it was because my mom didn't let the fact he was a delinquent get in the way of showing who he was.
On the way to school I knew I was going to have to tell my friends about Ran and I breaking up. All of them never really liked him to begin with braised on his reputation with his brother.
"There she is! You took your sweet time getting here y/n" Minako says
"Yeah you're usually the first one to get here" Emmie says
"Anyways we're all going to Karaoke after school, you coming?" Mimi asked
"sorry girls not really feeling it today" I say
"oh no what's happened?" Minako asked
"Ran and I broke up last night, Rindou told him to choose between me and the gang" I say
"And he chose the gang over your 3 and a half year relationship?" mimi gasped
"I told him too, I said that girlfriends come and go but your brother is forever. I didn't want the relationship with his brother to strain because of me." I explained
"Even so, god y/n we told you countless times that he wasn't good for you" Minako says
"Just leave it alone, I'll be fine" I say walking off.
when I opened my shoe locker at school I noticed an envelope inside. I opened it and inside was a note which I immediately recognised Ran's hand writing.
"I know we just broke up but I got you tickets to Disney for your birthday weekend, don't want them to go to waste so take a friend or your younger cousin with you, don't be too sad okay and enjoy. - Ran"
Inside were two tickets which were booked for 3 nights at Disney.
"What you got there?" mimi asked
"It's two tickets to Disney from Ran, he must've booked them for my birthday before we broke up..." I say
"Who you taking with you? There's only two" she asked
"thank I might take Lily" I say
"oh you're cousin, she would love that"
We walked to class and I saw Rindou by his locker. part of me wanted to go over there and ask him why he would do what he did but I knew that it would just cause more mess.
"Y/n come on we're gonna be late" Mimi says.
While in class I couldn't concentrate, I missed Ran so much, I felt a tear run down my cheek and I cursed myself for crying now of all times.
"Miss L/n, step outside" Sensei says.
I got up and walked outside and she followed.
"Is everything okay? you very early get upset" She asked worriedly.
"Sorry sensei, My boyfriend and I broke up last night I guess it's only now sinking in" I say
"You were dating Ran Haitani weren't you" she asked
"yeah since junior high so it's been about 4 years..."
She nodded and sighed
"it will be hard, depending how messy the break up was. but I know you're a strong girl y/n, you'll pick yourself back up quickly. I know you will. my office is always open if you wanna talk though. don't be a stranger" she says
"thanks Sensei I appreciate it"
She nodded before going back into class. During morning break I was walking to a vending machine and Rindou was there. I couldn't turn around since it was a rare well so I just had to wait.
"Go on. I know you want to say it" Rindou says.
"Why did you do it? why make him choose?" i asked
"Y/n you're a great girl, All the guys adore you and I loved having you around you made him happy. but you also made him soft. too soft. Not just that but he was skipping gang meetings almost every week. Ozawa was gonna boot him out if he didn't pick up on attendance" Rindou explained
"okay but you could have come and spoke to me and I could have told him to stop missing all those meetings" I say
"Damage is done y/n, he chose us so move on." Rindou says
He went to walk off and I just turned around and threw a book at his head.
"You're a fucking asshole Rindou! I did so much for you both! I used all my college savings to bail you two out of jail on numerous occasions! I took care of you both when you got hurt!"
"And we appreciate that. But Izana asked me to do something about Ran's absence and so I did. I sorry you got hurt. but you get in the way of the gang and Rans performance" Rindou says walking off.
I felt so angry at him, there was so many other ways to have handled this, so many solutions but he chose the one that would hurt me and Ran the most.
I walked off and into the nurses office, she looked at me and noticed my puffy eyes
"Can I go home...I don't feel so good" I asked.
"You don't look it either, take a seat I will call you mom" she says
