The Mate (Hiatus)

Chapter 7

SOME TIME ON THEIR OWN

It was an hour after dinner, Annie came to take Shadow and Mephiles and bring them to see Sonic and Silver once again. The younger Cross Hedgehogs welcomed them lovingly and made them ignore their caretaker entirely. It didn't bother Annie though, she was just happy that she's able to keep her hedgehogs in a good mood. She then left to give some privacy for the couples.

Without wasting time, Sonic dragged Shadow into his room and closed the door. Silver wanted to spend some time at the living room but he knew he'd heard Sonic if he stayed there, so he decided to take Mephiles to his room too.

Sonic sat on the bed while Shadow sat on the floor. The blue hedgehog couldn't stop talking about how much he missed him even if it had only been a few hours. His tail couldn't stop wagging and if it was possible he would have pink hearts floating above his head at that moment.

"Shadow, don't you wanna sit beside me?"

"But I'll take up a lot of space like before." The older hedgehog replied.

"Oh that's alright, just sit with me!" Sonic got up, pulled on Shadow's wrist and made him sit next to him on the bed.

The smaller hedgehog smiled at him and rubbed his forehead against the taller hedgehog. That, however, surprised Shadow. Cross Hedgehogs only do that when they're so attached and in love with each other. He returned the kind gesture and leaned down a bit to rub his forehead on Sonic's muzzle.

"I think you can tell that I'm really really in love with you." The blue hedgehog giggled.

"You're easy to read, Sonic. It's adorable." The other smiled softly.

Sonic blushed and he smiled, he suddenly moved himself and sit on top of Shadow's lap. His legs rested on each sides and he wrapped his arms around Shadow's neck, hugging him tightly.

"Is everything okay?" Shadow asked as he returned the hug. He froze in shock when he felt Sonic licking his muzzle because that could only mean one thing, an invitation to mate.

Sonic pulled himself away and smiled at his partner who was still surprised.

"Can I...can I really...?"

"You seriously need more approval than a lick to the muzzle?" The blue hedgehog chuckled.

"Well you were the one who told me to wait earlier today, of course I need more assurance." The red-streaked hedgehog complained.

"Will this help?"

Sonic leaned forward and gave a small kiss on Shadow's lips. He pulled himself back and chuckled at seeing the taller hedgehog's blushing muzzles.

"Alright..." Shadow smiled and licked Sonic's muzzle, a sign that he accepted the invite to mate. "Lay on the bed for me."

"Hehe, okay."

Sonic got off from Shadow's lap and laid himself down on the bed. The taller hedgehog climbed on top of the smaller one, giving small kisses on the blue hedgehog's muzzle while slowly pressing himself down.

Shadow held both of Sonic's hands and he pinned them down on each side. He continued to give him kisses before slowly moving his hips.

"Ah...this feels great." Sonic giggled quietly.

"I'm happy to hear that." Shadow smiled.

After a few seconds of doing the same treatment, Shadow pulled his body up and hold Sonic by his body. He flipped him over and caused him to gasp in surprise.

The smaller hedgehog yelped when he felt his mate pressing his body from behind. Shadow used his right hand to pin Sonic's right hand to the bed while his other hand hold Sonic's chin up.
