"A-ano?" I stuttered.

He looked so serious while looking at me that my heart started pounding so hard. Was he serious?

When he didn't answer, I gulped and tried to speak again.

"Bakit...ano, uh...b-bakit naman ako maaapektuhan ng..." Gulped. "...ano mo?"

Great, Jady. Just Great.

I was so scared that he would caught me lalo na at ganito pa ako umakto habang kaharap siya, pero ng dumaan ang pilyong ngiti sa labi niya, parang bigla akong nabunutan ng tinik sa lalamunan.

"Damn woman, I was just kidding. No need to be so tense."

Eh kung sinasakmal kaya kita d'yan?!

Napasimangot ako habang siya naman ay sinimulan nang kuhain ang mga gamit sa bag. Nakatitig lang ako sa kanya habang ginagawa niya 'yon.

There was a part of me that was still nervous, knowing that he was just literally four meters away from me but I also noticed that slowly, as I got used to the feeling of him being around, I was starting to feel comfortable by his presence.

And it was enough to send me on edge.

Hindi ko manlang naisip na posible palang mangyari 'to. I used to imagine having study dates with him but I never thought it would really happen. Well, technically, this wasn't a study date but you get the picture.

"Sir Mark gave us two dates. Pwede tayong pumili maalin do'n kung kailan natin gustong maganap ang Christmass Ball. We should decide on it first because he still needs to pass it to the principal for her approval." Gabe explained.

I put on a serious face and nodded my head. He then passed me a paper and without asking, I looked down.

Naro'n ang dalawang date na pagpipilian namin.

Dec. 10 and Dec. 15

Napakunot ang noo ko. "Ang layo naman ng gap nila. Kapag Decemeber 10 masyadong maaga pero kung December 15 naman..." I trailed off, not wanting to mention a certain event that always happen during that particular day.

"What's wrong about the date? I think we should do it on December 15 para makapag-prepare pa sila ng mas matagal."

Hindi ako agad nakapagsalita. That day should be off-limits. Pero hindi ko naman masabi 'yon sa kanya. I didn't want him to think that I was picky or petty, so instead of arguing with him, I just smiled and nodded.

"Okay. If you say so."

Nagplano na rin kami ng mga magagandang program like intermission number, Mr. and Mrs. Claus of the night, giving gifts, and a little play that would showcase the importance and real meaning of Christmas. Parang Panunuluyan pero slightly different kase sa church yun ginagawa tuwing Christmas Eve.
