OHMYGOSH, I'm so sorry for the long wait! I swear I was working on it, school was just bombarding me with so much stuff to do!! Most of the author notes you'll see up here is just me rambling, you're free to skip them and just read the story, ahah....

Even though my book is still not popular, I'm very happy ... I got so excited when I had my first request, and I was even more excited when I got the second one. Funnily enough, I also don't know how to write Okina (and my first time writing her) ... even though she is one of my favorite Touhou characters. So please forgive me if this seems inaccurate, I'm still an amateur at writing!

Besides that~ I like the depictions of Okina in a wheelchair or using a walking cane ... even if she's not disabled herself, (rather she is disability, as she's representing those with impairments and those who are discriminated) it's nice to see characters who represent those communities, right?

Along with that, the idea of Okina having abandonment issues is interesting .. I like it a lot, especially since you can easily use that headcanon to whip something up with Miko or Kokoro. Kokoro is technically both Miko and Okina's kid/creation, right? OkiMiko sounds like a funny ship~

You wandered up and down the alleyway, you looked somewhat out of place to be in an area such as this. Looking around, you eventually came across what seemed to be a lone door, seemingly different from the others and quite strange to even be here. Without a second thought, you opened the door and stepped in.

What you then saw was a completely different world. What seemed to be an endless plane of floating doors. "Woah!" The feeling of this place was different, as you moved forward, you could see Okina, sitting in her chair.

Your arrival brought the attention of Okina, and you both locked eyes with each other. The god then took notice of your attire, and raised her brow. "Hm, how interesting. A human has somehow wandered their way into here..." She muttered under her breath.

Feeling awkward under the piercing gaze of the god in front of you, you stood still. Or well, floated still. There was no floor after all. Taking note of her gaze, you waved to her. You weren't sure how she would react, but there was a sense of tension in the air, you could tell.

Okina looked at you for a moment and then sighed, "It seems you have wandered into an area that is usually restricted and forbidden, a place filled with the back door of a myriad of realities, of numerous places. I am not one to welcome intruders or travelers, but due to the unexpected nature of this occurrence, I shall give you a pass... this time."

She paused, "Oh, I've been rude haven't I? Allow me to properly introduce myself, I am Okina Matara, I am a god of the backdoor, a god of hindrances, a god of noh performance, a god of outcasts, a god of—"

This god seemed to ramble on with an ostentatious attitude, you're actually getting a bit irritated from it...

Seeing that she was still rambling on, you cleared your throat and interrupted her. Her monologue that she probably had been planning and practicing for whoever she'd meet seemed to go on forever and you had no interest to listen to it. She then looked at you, the irritation you had was clearly visible on your face.

The god of the backdoor then chuckled, seeing your reaction to her rather annoying monologue. She then coughed and continued, "Now then, I suppose there's nothing to do but entertain this unexpected encounter. What was it that made you step through my backdoor? What were you seeking to have entered this restricted area, hm? Surely, there is a reason, right?"

"To be honest with you, I don't really know how I got in here." You replied back to her, "This all just came to such a surprise even though I wasn't seeking anything in the first place. I just happened to stumble across this place."

But the curiosity of exploring the unknown got the best out of you, "So, do you mind telling me what this place exactly is?"

She chuckled at your answer, "Ah! I see, so it was a mere accident, how fascinating."

"And, oh yes, the mystery of the back door is definitely something I may indulge you in. However, the only thing I may share is that this area is the crossroads of numerous backdoor pathways across the entirety and depth of the world. This is my domain, but we would need an appropriate time for me to give you a proper lecture."

Hearing that this was a place where many doors lead to various places, you took a look around at the floating doors that lined the space. It was pretty interesting that if one didn't know that there were other places that could be visited with just a single step, this could be considered a trap as to wandering an unknown location.

"So... is it safe to assume that I won't be able to leave this place anytime soon?" You asked, feeling a tiny amount of dread. You didn't mind a quick visit, although this was certainly not what you expected to stumble upon.

Okina then looked at you with a raised brow once again, "Hmmm, you can't say that you are entirely wrong. It is up to me to decide your fate, how I see fit."

She then sat back into her chair, making her arms cross as she continued, "Since you have asked such a question, I will be honest with you. I am most likely going to keep you here a while. As to when you'll leave is up to my judgement, and who knows how long it'll take..."

You let out a sigh as you rubbed the back of your neck, "I figured as much...this is definitely the not the best day of my life. I didn't expect to be kidnapped and basically held captive today for God knows how long in some endless plane of floating doors that probably lead to literal Hell or something.."

Seeing that it was up to the god herself to decide when you can leave, it didn't seem like protesting would do you much good. All you could do right now is hope for the best, "Well, even if it's going to take a while, I don't have much choice than to wait."

Okina seemed somewhat amused and let out a soft laugh at your answer, "Oh please, you make it seem like this place is some sort of prison. You're free to roam and even visit anywhere you want. I won't stop you." Her tone was lighthearted despite the situation, you found it somewhat intriguing.

"So, let me tell you a bit more about this place since you're going to be here for a while." She then stood up, "If you need to go anywhere, you just need to step into a door and you'll be transported to wherever that door leads to."

"I see...so I just need to step through any of these doors and I could go anywhere..." You repeated, "What's the catch?" You continued, looking at the various different and unique doors, curious as to what might happen if you stepped inside one of them.

"I mean, it can't just be that easy to go and travel to different places, right?" You continued, wondering if this too good to be true.

Okina then went silent for a moment, raising her brow before letting out another soft chuckle, "Well, I am glad that you asked such a question. While you could say that there are some 'unfortunate' caveats that come with stepping through..." As she raised a finger, seemingly about to continue, she suddenly stopped herself. It seemed that the god was hesitant to share what it was that she was going to say.

"Well, it's not really important. Not something I want to spoil for you... let's just say that it is all a part of this place's charm?"

Her words did leave you a bit suspicious but since she probably knew more about this place than you did, you decided to heed at the advice of not spoiling the surprise. A part of you felt a bit excited in a twisted sort of way, as if it was some sort of gamble.

"Alrighty then." With that, you decided to test the god's word and step into one of the doors. Surely there's no harm in that... right?

With your decision made, you took a step into what seemed to be a rather normal-looking doorway, what lies on the other side is unknown, but the curiosity of the unknown called out to you.

You then found yourself walking out from this seemingly door and you looked around, you weren't able to get a good bearing of where you just came out of, but judging from the scenery... you're nowhere near where you once stood. The only thing you could see was fog? No, the familiar noise of water was apparent, that would mean it was mist. You could only see mist, and if you weren't lucky enough—

You fell into the lake... you felt the cold water surround and envelope you, your limbs feeling numb and your eyes widening as you tried to hold your breath...but it was too late. You looked around, panicking and trying to keep yourself afloat, yet the water felt like it was pulling you under. It was all confusing and disorienting. The only thing you could hear was the gentle rippling of water, the sound of waves hitting the shore.

The water continued to pull you under, you could make out a faint glow from behind a large stone. You swam to the side, trying to see the backside of the stone— it was a door! A door that looked just like the doors in Okina's realm!

You didn't have much choice right now, you needed to get out of the lake and you needed it right now. You swam over to the door and desperately grabbed onto the handle, and with all your strength, you pulled it open, you felt your lungs filled with fresh air as you panted for breath, looking from side to side as you tried to catch your breath.

You were back at the endless plane of floating doors, greeting Okina with the sight of you completely drenched and panting for air.

She then looked at you, her face being rather amused at what had just transpired. "I take it you managed to survive your swim." Despite how tired you were, you shot a glare towards her.

"You seemed to have enjoyed your little detour. A place of water and mystery was definitely up your alleyway." She let out a soft chuckle, seeing that you weren't exactly unhappy with your surprise visit. "Do you really want to enter other doors after that little stunt?"

"That little stunt?!" You responded as your body shivered from the cold. You didn't know how else to respond to that, you were admittedly rather shocked by your visit to the lake, a brief change of scenery from being stuck in the Land of the Backdoor.

She was right, this was right up your alley. But did you want to enter another door after just escaping a brush with death? "What happens if I step through another door?" You finally asked, "What's this 'unfortunate catch' that you were reluctant to tell me back there?"

"Huh, you're still curious for more despite falling into a lake. How very human of you. How thrilling.~" She giggled, her tone was somewhat alluring, but you couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed by the god's playful attitude.

"But seriously, what kind of catch is there to this?" You asked, rather insistently, as you crossed your arms in front of your chest. It seemed the god herself was rather reluctant to tell you, but you felt the need to know, regardless of whether it was for your own good or not.

Plus, you really didn't want to fall into another lake again.

She then took note of your insistence, seeing that you were persistent in your question. "Hmmm... if one steps through the doors, they are not guaranteed their destination. Whether they arrive at a place of joy, or a place of horrors... or anywhere else in between. I may have intentionally guided you to the lake, but that is still no guarantee of safety." She spoke with a tone of amusement, seeming to enjoy your reactions more than the circumstances itself.

You felt a chill run down your spine as what she just said hit you. "So it is possible that I can end up in Hell or something if I enter a door...?" You mumbled in a rather annoyed tone, while you were rather curious on what's behind the doors, you've already experienced almost drowning to death just now... you weren't sure if you wanted to go ahead and enter another one.

She chuckled as you showed concern for your destiny after stepping through a door. "I won't send you to Hell, maybe," she continued, "But yes, if you are unfortunate enough, you can step through an unpleasant location. That's just the beauty of the back door."

"Though... I may have a slight favor to ask." Okina paused and cleared her throat, she then looked at you with a rather alluring gaze.

"Do you think you could...well, accompany  me for a bit?" Okina then smiled, not waiting for you to answer before she continued, "I must admit that I do enjoy conversing with humans."

She paused to give you time to respond to her request, "Of course, this is all your choice, I would understand if you choose to say no..."

You felt tempted to say no, you already experienced one strange event today, you really didn't feel like going on a stroll with this woman. But there's just something about her you felt was rather... enticing. "Fine... I'll accompany you if you wish." You couldn't help but feel slightly charmed by the god, but you shook off the feeling as you crossed your arms and looked up at Okina.

Hearing your response, Okina had let out a low hum, seeming to be pleased with your answer. "Hmm? You don't sound so reluctant, after all I am quite the charming god, eh? Come now, I have just the place to visit." She stood up from her chair, you were a bit surprised since this was actually the first time you've seen her get up.

You couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed over how you were quite fond of her, even though you only had met her just now and you knew now how irritating she could get. You decided to try to ignore your feelings towards her as she then gestured for you follow her, walking over to one of the floating doors behind her.

"Don't lag behind me, this is the fun part." Okina spoke, her tone was still light-hearted despite you already being rather cautious of stepping through these doors.
