Mason Thames had always been the charismatic, popular guy at school. At 16, he had the world at his feet, and he had been dating Y/N, his lovely girlfriend. Their relationship had been full of laughter and sweet moments, but as time went on, Mason began to get increasingly absorbed in his own world, specifically in video games.

One Friday evening, Mason had promised Y/N a special date night. She had been looking forward to it all week, envisioning a romantic evening together. She had prepared herself, picking out a cute outfit and making plans for what they would do. But as the hours passed, Mason was nowhere to be found. Y/N waited at their designated meeting spot, growing more anxious by the minute.

After waiting for what felt like an eternity, Y/N finally gave up, feeling the sting of rejection. Tears welled up in her eyes as she headed back home, her heart heavy with sadness. She had been stood up, and it hurt more than words could express.

As Y/N entered her room, she couldn't hold back her tears any longer. She sobbed, feeling abandoned and unimportant. Mason, on the other hand, was at home, completely oblivious to the hurt he had caused. He had been immersed in his video games, losing track of time, and forgetting about the date entirely.

Hours later, Mason finally checked his phone and saw a series of missed calls and texts from Y/N. It was only then that he realized what he had done. Guilt washed over him as he read Y/N's heartbreaking messages, each one a plea to know where he was and what had happened.

Panicking, he immediately called Y/N, who answered the phone with a quivering voice, still shaken from her earlier disappointment. "Y/N, I'm so sorry. I can't believe I forgot about our date. I messed up big time. I'll make it up to you, I promise."

Y/N, her voice still trembling, replied, "Mason, it really hurt. I felt so rejected and unimportant. I don't know if I can trust you with my heart again."

Mason knew he had to make amends. He rushed over to Y/N's house and found her sitting on her bed, her eyes red from crying. He held her gently and apologized sincerely. "I promise I'll never let this happen again, Y/N. You mean everything to me, and I'll do whatever it takes to make it up to you."

In the following days, Mason made a concerted effort to prioritize Y/N over video games and show her how much she meant to him. He knew that trust was fragile and had to be rebuilt slowly. Y/N, though still hurt, decided to give him another chance, hoping that their love could withstand this painful episode and grow stronger from it.
