The lost island

There was a sudden "𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐊." It woke up almost everyone on board. An alarm sounded across the ship, signaling for everyone to evacuate, but before anyone could leave they were taken under by one long tentacle.

Jhon, Xander, and Lindsey were all scuba divers. They all loved hanging out together. Sometimes Xander got all along all too well with Lindsey. There watching them with each other was Jhon. He always had wanted Lindsey for himself, although she never noticed the glint in his eyes when he saw her. But he saw the glint in her eyes when she looked at Xander. "Why did she always love 𝘩𝘪𝘮 instead of me." he thought to himself in disgust as he watched them flirt.

"It's so obvious that they like each other, but maybe there is something I can do about it." he thought as he looked at Xander with envy.

"𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠" Everyone sat up to look at the phone. It wasn't very often that they got a call, especially since it was in the middle of the night. "I'll get it," Jhon said

As Jhon walked up to the phone he couldn't get his mind off of what he would do to Xander. "Maybe drown him on the dive, or maybe get him to check the place out first," he thought.

Once he got the phone his eyes widened with fear. What had happened sounded like the most horrible thing Jhon had ever heard of. "What is it," Lindsey asked worriedly.

"A giant cruise ship sunk in the middle of the ocean," John said

"How come," Xander asked

"They say it was for unknown reasons, but something tells me they know what happened. They just don't want to tell us," Jhon answered

"ok, yeah we're on our way, ok bye,"he said to the person on the phone.

They left to go get their gear before they went to the ocean. Before Xander left John set up a trap so that when Xander walked out he would get knocked out, but Jhon hoped there was a worse outcome. Yet Xander stepped over the trap and went straight to Lindsey. "COME ON you two," he snapped

They hopped in the car still shocked that they were yelled at. Jhon was absolutely furious, he couldn't stand them together. He wanted her for just himself and no one else. It was about a one-hour drive to get to the part of the beach they needed to be at. Once they got there they met up with Alex. He was the person that would be checking their gear to make sure it was safe. He gave the all clear then they set off to where the boat sunk on the boat Alex gave them.

It was about a day before they reached the spot they needed to be. This was the furthest out in the ocean any of them has been.

They got ready, then disappeared below into the oil-filled water. They dove down super far and if they went down any further they would have to resurface.

Jhon knew his plan they were going to reach the lowest part and then unplug his tank. "I'll finally get rid of Xander and Lindsey will be mine. He swam down to Xander and slowly started to take off his oxygen tank. But before he could get rid of it fully a tentacle pulled them down and before they knew it they were out cold. Jhon was the first to wake up, still furious that he didn't succeed, but then he realized something. "Guys wake up, we aren't in water anymore." Xander woke up but instead of looking around was looking right at Jhon. "You tried to kill me," Xander said irritated

"That's a rather bold accusation without proof," Jhon stated

"Look my oxygen tank is almost of and your footprints are on my back, is that proof enough for you," Xander asked but before Jhon could respond Xander punched him in the jaw. Why do you hate me so much anyway?

"YOU TOOK AWAY THE LOVE OF MY LIFE," Jhon yelled.

"What do you mean?"Xander asked more curious than before.

"Come on now, you know who I'm talking about," Jhon said as he shot a glance at the still sleeping Lindsey.

"It's so obvious you like each other, but I liked her first. You don't deserve her, only I do. So to get rid of her love for you I have to get rid of you." Jhon said with sadness in his eyes but the biggest smirk on his face.

He was about to run at Xander but then they heard a noise in the bushes. They got down next to Lindsey and hid in a bush. There was a small creature that appeared, and it was walking towards them. "Wake up Lindsey, wake up we need to go now," Jhon said

" I'm up geez," Lindsey said

"Ok good, just follow us. There is something wrong about this place," Jhon said as he pulled Lindsey up off the ground.

"Where are we going?" Lindsey asked

"I don't know, but as long as we are away from that thing," Xander told her

"Yea, which is why we need to go now. Because that thing You're talking about is coming straight for us," Jhon said

Lindsey hurriedly got up and stealthily crept away from the area they were at before. all three of them headed towards some tall grass nearby. They had to creep around many of the different creatures.

It seemed as if there was no way to get off of this island. Although every once in a while the same tentacle that brought them to this island would move around the island. "Hey look at that huge blob over there," Lindsey said

"That's not just any blob that's a giant octo-" Jhon was cut off by a tentacle picking him up and throwing him up in the air.

Lindsey and Xander knew what would happen to him and there was nothing they could do about it. He would die no matter how hard they tried to save him, and they would suffer the same fate if they stood there to watch.

They ran but with nowhere they could go to escape. The best option was just to run straight. They ran right into a wall of water. "So that's how we got down here," Lindsey stated

"Come on our best chance to survive is to try and swim back to the surface," Xander told Lindsey as he grabbed her hand and jumped into the water. Once they were in they got pulled upwards right around their boat. "Do you think he might actually be dead?" Lindsey asked

"Yes, and he deserves it to. He tried to kill me just so he could be with you." Xander said in a serious tone.

"Oh... I'm sorry, but I didn't know that" Lindsey said

"It's all in the past now, right now we need to go inform people about how dangerous this place is," Xander said

Both of them left and shared the news with people who went near there. Before they knew it they were famous and saved thousands of lives.

this is definitely one of my longer short stories, but it was fun to write.
