She was the fastest in her class and no matter how much others tried to catch up to her, they could never beat her in terms of speed.
That was nice, the feeling of the wind brushing past her.
Living on the streets was hard for someone with no parents.
There was a time when she was asked what her dream was, to her the answer was obvious.
"To be the fastest person to ever exist." She replied at that time without a hint of hesitation.
Anybody could see the determination that lit up in her eyes every time she talked about her dream, to Shiroi who had to steal food in the cold winter, it was a petal of hope.
Like she could survive anything and everything.
As she grew and became a ninja, she became faster as a part of her generation's team miracle.
Even her team members - Kai and Ren had a hard time fighting her because of her speed.
Speed made her confident, but soon it made her arrogant.
And the one to show her was Sakura.
While she didn't always win against everyone like the former generation of miracles or her teammates, it didn't mean she was weak.
Shiroi didn't think much about Sakura, just someone who they needed to poach. Since she had been observing her like the rest of her team, she didn't notice anything special about her.
Then she noticed it.
During her fight.
That one moment where Sakura allowed herself to not pretend, where she utterly manipulated the situation in her favour.
And Shiroi was hooked.
