Haru

That name was all too familiar for Kaori. Her body always forgets to react whenever that name comes up. The past memories would come running down to her whenever she hears that name. And that wasn't a good sign for her.

And this new boy wasn't helping the situation either. He made her feel uneasy somehow. So, she tried to stay away from him as much as possible but to her dismay, he was persistent.

Haru blew out a puff of air looking boringly at the young girl infront of him. After sometime, the girl caught him staring, her eyes rolling back out of annoyance.

"Little miss, why do you look like that?" Her eyes widened at his question. She scoffed out loud clearly offended by his question. What the hell?

Haru looked confused seeing the girl's lack of answer. He soon realized she was rather offended by his question, his tone not helping either. "Gomen, little miss, I wasn't trying to offend you. Your looks are astonishing as always. I was just wondering why you always hold a stoic face. I've never seen you smile or laugh genuinely."

I never smile?

You didn't know that?  Another familiar voice in my head replies sarcastically. I could tell that he was clearly enjoying this moment.

"That's none of your business." I said as I abruptly stood up to end this conversation with him. I started walking towards the others.

"Oh, it is my business, little miss. I would love to see you smile especially if the reason is myself." He stood up too and followed me with a smirk casted on his face.

This guy is even more annoying than Boruto. At least, Boruto would shut up sometimes but this guy knew nothing about silence.

"Leave me alone, Haruki." His smirk dropped at once leaving me a bit surprised. "Why are you calling me that? I've a nickname, you know, Haru. You used to call me that, what happened all of a sudden?"

"Your name is Haruki. Why would I call you by a nickname?" I asked, my voice strained our with annoyance.

"I just love hearing you call me that, little miss."

"Don't call me little miss."

"What should I call you then? Little mouse?" He chuckled a little when he saw her glare.

"I hope both sides of your pillows are warm." I walked past him cursing him on the way.

"Why don't you come over and we make the whole bed warm, Kaori-san?" As he uttered his flirtatious words, everything seemed to freeze in time. Kaori's eyes widened in surprise, and those nearby stopped in their tracks, their expressions frozen in disbelief.

As Haru flirted with Kaori, the air around others seemed to still. The trio froze with surprise evident on their faces. Haru, who usually showed no interest in girls, was suddenly all smiling and trying to pursue the young girl, and it was clear that Kaori was the exception. Their usual nonchalant friend suddenly revealing a side of himself they had never seen before was surprising.

Kakashi was equally surprised. He had his mouth opened all the way to the ground. As Haru tried to annoy Kaori, he couldn't help but notice the subtle curve of her lips, a rare sight indeed. Seeing Kaori smile was a sight he wished, and he couldn't help but feel grateful towards Haru.

Kaori who was the victim was a blushing mess. Caught off guard, Kaori froze, her cheeks flushing crimson as she struggled to form a coherent response so she choose the easiest option to get out of that situation. She bonked his head and started walking towards their destination, in a pace no one could catch up to her. "Shut up, idiot."
