ONE SHOT ,
starring
Nasir Jones.
1999.This night was like no other between Nasir and Kia. It would happen every three months, where the two year couple would get into bad arguments. It was always over little things that didn't require an argument. Today the topic was quality time, and what it was meaning to them right now, with what was going on in their current lives.
"So you don't mean think there should be a balance between hanging with me and watching a fucking boxing match?" Kia spat, trying to make sense of what her boyfriend was saying.
"A boxing match isn't one of my daily priorities, Kia! But you are." the man spoke, his New York accent coming thick. "This is an every once in awhile thing! So I don't get why you're tripping."
"Because you knew this was gonna happen!"
"No, I didn't! Tommy just hit earlier today about it. And I thought, why not?" the man responded. "I didn't think you would be tripping this hard. Like there isn't an entire tomorrow for you and I."
"You don't know that."
"All you do Nasir, is waste my damn time!"
Nasir sighed, throwing his head back as the woman continued on with in her frustration. He wasn't up for a night long full of drama, especially with the stressful week he had from work.
"Ight...Ight. Baby, I'll cancel with the boys and stay with you for the night." Nasir voices, "I just don't want us out on bad terms. You hear me?"
His eyes followed the woman as she continuously ignored the man and his attempt in trying to make solidarity.
Anytime it came to the point of the silent treatment being played, it always went to the extreme. Nasir sat in the front room of their New Jersey apartment, hoping that the space he gave her would make a difference.
But as said before— once the silent game was played, things were taking to the extreme. Kia distracted herself from giving into his antics, dialing up one of her friends to see what they were up to.
When her grand friend Lauren answered and informed her of the big event that was taking place at Club 49, Kia could only plaster up a petty grin. It took her no more than an hour to get herself dressed and ready.
She sported an all black body suit that was exposed her backside, followed with a stylish pair of black leather boots that stopped below her kneecaps.
